Berries

It's berry time - Mum has already been out checking in the woods. The black raspberries might be ready for their first picking on Sunday. In about a week or so, it will be time for the black berries - we have those, too!

I can go with Mum behind the house, but there are places I can't cuz they are out of bounds. I LOVE picking berries with Mum - she lets me help her (I eat them as she's picking!)

She might not get as many berries for whatever she's going to make when I'm with her, but I'm sure great company out in the woods!

Look out belly, the berries will be coming! BOL

What I'm thankful for

It's Father's Day weekend. I want to share what I'm thankful for about my Dad:

* He lets me be a lap dog even though I weigh over 100#.
* He's great to take naps with.
* He hugs each of us before he boots us from the bedroom at night.
* He gives us cookies before he leaves for work every day.
* He's always worried about a boo boo that one of us might have.
* His belly button.
* He always shares what he is eating with us - even if it's really good and he wants all of it for himself!
* He poop scoops the deck every day to keep it clean for us to use the next day!
* He leaves music playing everyday for us when he goes to work.
* He lets us jump all over him when he gets home from work and we're all excited to see him.
* He'll take us to the lake on really hot days.
* When he and mum go out for icecream, he brings some home to us.
* When he stops for fast food, he brings home food for us. (see the food theme here for me! BOL)

I'm sure there are other things that I've not mentioned, but can sum it up easily - HE LOVES ALL OF US and we so love him!

Happy Father's Day to all the dogster Dad's out there!

He tried to kill us all!

Last night, Dad tried to drown our pack! He first took Addison into the bathroom with him. He called to Mum to help him, but didn't shut the bathroom door. I could hear the shower running....everybody was in the tiny bathroom, so I peeked around the corner. Here came Addison out of the shower - soaking wet - doing the shake all over. Mum grabbed her and put a piece of cloth over her. Horror struck me - Dad tried to drown Addison, but he wasn't successful. Mum is trying to finish the job for him! I ran to the living room and hoped they would furget about me.

One by one each of the pack came from the bathroom wet, but alive! They were so happy to be alive, they were doing zoomies around the house! My curiosity got the best of me - I peeked into the bathroom again. MISTAKE! Mum quickly closed the door behind me. It was just me and Dad in the bathroom. This was it - I fought it hard! Dad had to pick all 110# of me up and carry me into the drowning area. I froze in place and hoped for the best.

I survived! When I came out all wet, I wasn't giving Mum a chance to finish the job. I bolted for the living room. Whew - glad that's over! (Mum and Dad are in this together - they have tried it before and something tells me they will try again!)

It's hot here today and we have many fans running. Dad brushed us today in the house (Mum wasn't too excited about that)! Gotta love it, with 5 dogs in the house, there is hair in the air!!!

breakfast today

Okay, so nobody in the pack liked my idea of getting stung by a bee yesterday so we could get a great breakfast again this morning. I figured I shouldn't have to do it since it was my brilliant idea! But to my surprise, mum put meatloaf on our food AGAIN this morning. Hmmmm - I have to rethink this now.

On another note, we have found that there are few human foods that I won't eat (imagine that!) The newest food that they have given me and I like.........WATERMELON!!!! BOL I eat it off the rind right down to the white. Mum sez it looks like I'm eating corn on the cob (which I love, also!)

All this thinking has made me tired. I'm going to go rest so I'm wide awake when Mum and Dad come home tonight.

Mum was going to town after work yesterday to get us more dog food. With Bodhi's mishap with the bee, she can home instead and just bought some other dog food at a local store. She wasn't sure we would like it, SO she mixed in meatloaf with it for our breakfast this morning! BOL

Okay, so here's the plan......who in the pack is willing to get stung today?????

Dad brought his cousin Phillip home with him last night. Phil works for Dad so he came home to help load the trailer so it could be taken back to Dad’s work today.

The battery in my shock collar isn’t working, but Mum and Dad haven’t been too worried since I would NEVER run away from home. Anywho, I was back behind the garage with Dad and Phil while they were working with the trailer. Every time that Dad tried to back up the truck to hook to the trailer, I had my front feet on the running board of the truck and was walking on my back feet with the truck. Dad finally got the hint and let me ride in the truck with him! BOL

Phil shares his food with us – lets us eat right off his plate while he’s still eating. I think this is GREAT. Mum doesn’t think it’s all that great. (She’ll share when she’s done eating, but not let us eat right off her plate when she’s still eating from it!) We all think Phil is cool! He went fishing at the lake down over the hill from the house after dinner – he didn’t catch anything worth keeping. When he came back to the house – I was confused. I didn’t know who he was! I barked and barked at him. It scared me!

This morning, we got to go wake him up. Bo opened the door and 4 of us (Addison, Bodhi, Bo and I) jumped on him and licked him over and over again. Mum could hear him laughing. He liked waking up that way!

Phil and his girl friend are coming back down this weekend and staying with us. I’m looking forward to it already. He loves us and shares all his food with us – this is gonna be GREAT!

My Mum works at a fancy shmancy resort. Part of their perks at work was free meals at the staffeteria. While Mum sez the food wasn’t always the greatest, it was FREE. Well, the resort has changed this perk – it now costs a $1 per meal. You say – that’s not a lot of money, and you’re right! For Mum, it’s not about the money – she looks at it as a pay cut since this was a perk of her job (and the pay isn’t the greatest.)

Okay – so why do I even care about this? Well, I’ll tell you! Mum is now taking the leftovers from dinner in for her lunch the next day. THIS IS JUST WRONG! Those leftovers were always given to we furfaces! Mum would mix it in with our dry food. WE’RE GOING TO STARVE!!! This just isn’t fair.

So, here’s my plan! I’m going to go and talk to the owner of the resort – we might even picket……..yea, picketing the resort is the plan! All of us will have to practice looking thin and pathetic. Huhm – we may have to wait on this plan for a few days or maybe even weeks. Looking thin is going take a lot of practice!

I'm home and they have already left!

Mum and Dad left this morning without me. I didn't get to go along to meet up with Bodhi and his grammy. :-( Mum did have a good point - our human sister, Crystal, and her son, Vince, decided to left today with them. By the time they packed all the sissy and kid stuff into the truck, there wasn't room for me. humph

Well, I guess we here at home will be all rested for when Mum, Dad AND Bodhi arrive home later today. (They are meeting grammy and Bodhi in Ohio at 2:30PM eastern time today.) Hey - that's the same time that Elvis has his good dr's appt. This is great - 2:30PM MUST be the time that good things are going to happen today!!!

Welcome home Bodhi!

Hope, Love, Elvis! Hope, Love, Elvis! HOpe, Love, Elvis!

Who should get to go?

Okay – here’s the deal. Mum thinks she should take one of us (me, me oh take me) with them when they meet Bohdi and his grandma in Ohio next Friday. It’s pretty much down to me (me, me, take me) and Levi.

Here’s the reasons to take me:

1. I’m the newest furface in the house and would be the best at telling him everything on the ride home.

2. I’m the closest to his age – we will have more in common!

3. I’m low dog in the pack and won’t be dominate over him.

4. I will take a toy to share with him – I love to play tug of war with toys.

5. The backseat of the truck is big and scary when you are there alone. I’m the biggest dog in the house and will take up more space – it will be less scary for him.

6. I would get just Mum and Dad attention on the ride to get Bohdi (I LOVE one on one attention). Then on the way home, I’ll sleep and Bohdi can get the one on one attention from Mum and Dad!

7. Ummm – I was born in Ohio – I can help with directions.

Well, that’s all I can think of to plead my case for now. Whoever gets to go (me, me, take me) – the rest of the pack will be anxiously waiting for them when they get back with our new furbro. Mum sez it’s just a week. I don’t know how long that is, but I hope it’s real soon!
