my 3rd birthday

The pawrents don't know the exact date that I was born, so we celebrate it today - July 4th. I like to think that all the activities going on today are for me......except for the fireworks. I'm petrified of them.

I have had an enjoyable birthday with my pack even though Dad bathed me today. I put up a good struggle, but Dad won.

Tonight for dinner I got a mozzarella turkey burger that mum made and Dad cooked on the grill. It was delicious! I'm hoping for ice cream later tonight.

It's been a great 4th of July 3rd birthday for me!

I just love summertime foods!

Today I got some cucumber. The pawrents didn't even know that I like that delicious veggie!

Last week, I got LOTS of watermellon. LOVE that stuff - just can't get enough!

Wishing everybody a safe, dry and all you can eat of your favorite foods holiday weekend!

it was a pawsome Saturday!

Yesterday, the pawrents were going alway for the day. Bodhi and I weren't getting along well......turns out the pawrents took me with them for the whole day!

I didn't know where we were heading, but I didn't care - I was with the pawrents! I was just getting settled in the back seat of the truck when dad stopped. I could smell food and hear people talking. Mum and Dad got food and so did I - I got a Sausage muffin with cheese and a big drink of water!

We rode for a long time before stopping again. I didn't know where I was, but knew most of the people there. I met "Darling" - Mum's mother for the first time, got to play with mum's human grandson AND human bro David brought his dog Heinz with him. We had a great time playing.

I ate a chewy on the way home in the truck and Mum and Dad stopped for food again. We didn't eat till we got home - all the dogs in the house got their own plain double stack burger from Wendy's!

It was a banner Saturday for me!

afraid to go outside

I wouldn’t go outside last night……Mum thought I was afraid of something. She thinks that’s interesting since I’m the biggest dog in the house.

This morning, Mum opened the door and everybody ran for outside……including me. As soon as I got to the doggie door, I stopped and turned around…..I wasn’t going outside again.

Mum stuck her head out the door and looked around. It seems that Dad had plugged in the battery for the lawn mower right outside the door to charge it. It was making a humming noise. Mum unplugged the battery and guess what……I’m back to going outside!

Uncle Terry

We have company for a few days. Dad's friend "uncle terry" is staying with us. He's stayed with us before, but when he arrived last night, I still barked at him for a while.

What helped me remember him??? Well, he keeps a little cooler near him. It's filled with my favorite------ ICE CUBES!!!! I don't care why he has that with him - I just get so excited that he'll share his ice cubes with me. If he forgets to share, I've found that I can nudge the lid with my nose and get it open. I would only do that if I think he's forgotten me or more than 10 minutes has gone by without my ice cube fix being met.

Wherever Uncle Terry is when he's visiting us, I'm not too far away. BOL I luv him!

things about me

My pal Murray tagged me and asked me to tell him 7 things about me. I'm putting them in my diary cuz I thought some of you might like to see them, too.

1. Bodhi is my bestest buddy. We play together all the time.

2. I don't wear a collar to keep me in the yard. I don't need one - I'll NEVER leave home. I love it here!

3. I'm very laid back. Even though I'm the biggest dawg in the house, I'm the gentlest.

4. I love ice cubes. I can be anywhere in the house and if someone gets ice cubes.....I'm there.

5. I'm a pro at drooling. It can be over an ice cube (see #4) or food. My record is half way from my mouth to the floor. BOL

6. In the morning when we all burst into the bedroom with Mum and Dad, I go for Mum. That's my time to have my face rubbed and to snuzzle with her.

7. I rock at catching things when they are tossed to me. I'll even exert myself and jump very high to catch that food/toy that was tossed.

Okay - that's my 7 facts. Instead of tagging 7 others, if you read this and feel you would like to share 7 facts with us about yourself, please do. We would love to know more about our pals.

Happy got me day!

Well, it's been 2 years now that I've been living in my furever home. They came to get me just a few days before Christmas.

I use to live with a Mom, Dad, son and daughter. The son and I played alot together. He would ride his bike and I would run along with him. LOVED that. The bad past was, when I was with the son, I wasn't on a leash and didn't have tags on me - it was near a big road. I slept outside in an igloo. The daughter wasn't well and was afraid of me. The mom didn't like me in the house cuz I was a bit tough and tumble. Hey, what do you expect of a large puppy!

When my new pawrents came to meet me, I was just getting back from a run with the son. I was all muddy and panting. I ran right over to Mum, sat down between her legs and looked up at her. Nobody could resist that! BOL

My wish for this season is that ALL doggies and kitties find happy furever homes!

Oat and cheddar dog cookies

Mum finally got the frozen dog cookie dough that she ordered from someone at work. She brought it home Thursday night, but didn’t get the cookies made till Saturday! Com’on – what took so long! I was waiting – I was starving and she waited a couple of days before baking them. When she did make them, she only did one sheet – 12 cookies. With Sandy still here, that worked out to 2 cookies per dog. What’s that? You’ve got a whole tub of cookie dough – let’s eat it!

Now – about the actual cookie. They were pawsome! We had oats and cheddar. All of us (even Levi) loved them and wanted more!

So, if your pawrents know of someone that is doing a fund raiser with Joe Corbi items (we think they are all across the US) – get the frozen dog cookie dough, it’s the best! BOL

Tanner – craving more dog cookies

You got a problem with that???

Okay – I admit it, I’m a big boy…..over 100#. Does that mean I don’t have the same needs/wants as a 10# dog?? The answer in NO!

Well, it seems that Dad has a few issues with me being a lap dog! Com’on Dad! That takes a lot of nerve on your part. You and Mum aren’t exactly tiny, you know! Therefore, you have a larger, sturdier lap – more room for moi to sit upon. I just love you SO much that I want to be ascloseaspossible to you.

Thanks, I thought that would clear it all up and you would understand. Same time and place tonight???

Love you!
Tanner, the lap dog

Googling

Our pack just wanted to let all of our pals know that when you are looking something up on the internet, there are other search engines besides Google. Mum has always used dogpile.com. Now there is even a better reason to use them. Here’s why (this is directly from dogpile’s home page):

"We’re on a mission to help animals in need. We call it our Search and Rescue program. Each time a user goes to Dogpile.com to search the Internet, a portion of the revenue generated will be donated to rescue animals. Our goal is to raise $1 million by the end of 2009.

You’ll be helping pets just by doing what you already do – search the Internet. Dogpile gives you one-click access to the best results on the web from Google, Yahoo, Ask, and MSN Live. Just make us your preferred search engine. It’s free. It’s easy. And it’s one small change that could make a big difference in the lives of animals."

Me here again – we know that helping pets is very important to you. This would be a very simple, no cost way to give additional support to those animals without wonderful homes like yours!
