I was looking for several mos for a Sib. Husky or Husky mix puppy about 6-8wks old, as it has always been a dream of mine to have not one, but two Siberian Huskies, a girl and a boy. I finally came across a puppy that chose me, on 04/26/07, that would be my Aleu. Aleu chose me out of a litter of 13 Sib Husky puppies, whose future was uncertain with out the help of a local Husky Rescue in the area, whom advertised these pups on Craigslist for the Spokane, Wa./Cour D A'lane, ID, area for these local breeders that wanted to makesure they whent to a good home, they were willing to foster, and adopt the puppies out for a small adoption fee, Aleu I got FREE, because She was to be Balto's "Successor" in a couple of years.

Nothing NEW going on here, but mommy said that we'll get a NEW baby brother or baby sister, Sib. or Sib x. someday soon!! YEAH!!! YIPPEE!! SNP- Special Needs Pooch. I have Myopia-servere nearsightedness and Abnormal Ezyme levels in my Liver.

Well hi everybody, how r u? This is Aleu's mommy. Aleu's too sick to write anything at this time, she's sleeping in her crate right now. Which is good, as I don't want too much to cause her to wanna over tax herself and her health issues. She's had these health issues since she was 6 wks old, however they were so minute that hardly anyone, if not even myself noticed them. They became drastically more noticable shortly after we moved to Elk, Wa. she's been walking into walls, Balto's crate door, and even the cats sometimes. She's been having behaivoral issues due to the health issues, which at this time we are going thru lots of bld testing to get more specifics on the issue to get closer to a cure and/or treatment. Her behaivoral issues contain Some Fear Aggression, mostly towards men, since December 25th, '08, and fear of nothing 2-5 ft in front of us while going for walks on the leash, while walking she'll freak out and try to run away from nothing, or try to hide behind my legs. She's also been fearful of inanimate objects, that she was fine with only a day or two before, she growls, barks and even woofs at the inanimate objects, she's also developed an allergy to certain types of vaccines, such as 7 ways and Rabbies vaccines, her face swells up, and her normal pink and blk colored lips turn royal purple, two wks after her 1st B-day she refused to eat breakfast and dinner for a whole wk, I was quit perplexed and concerned, esp. since she'd never been a picky eater EVER, before. She throws up some orange acid color looking stuff, and she's even and very liquidy, bloody stool, too. I checked for worms of anykind, there was none to be found, but then again, why would there be? I deworm her and Balto every couple mos.(The cats too, and that's tricky when it comes to the cats, lol!) Regardles her 1st B-day was a blast, she LOVED it! I brought out tiny stool and put a small hanky over it like a table cover, and put her presents on it and let her choose which one she wanted mommy to help her unwrap. She got a Rawhide Donut, a Hartz Water Chew Toy, a 2 pk of Tennis Balls and a new collar (Which Balto chose the collar at Wal-Mart, special, just for her.) The Tennis Balls were from Malta and Merlin, the Rawhide Donut was from Mary #2 and the Water Chew Toy was from me. Which her most favorite gifts in order where, #1: The NEW collar Balto chose for her. #2: The Tennis Balls from the Cats #3: The Rawhide Donut from the rat, and #4: The Water Chew Toy from mommy. Guess I didn't do a really great job choosing the gift, did I? After I helped her unwrap the gifts, I put her new collar on and got it adjusted to the right size, then I let her choose a toy to play with to keep her busy while I got the big surprise ready for her, homemade doggy cake w/ chocolate(Carob)chip cookies in a box from 3Dog Bakery, Chicken Jerky, Solid Gold Lamb Chips and Frosty Paws IceCream cups,(the cats got their left over cat treats from 2 Christmas' ago, lol!)and a "#1" White,B-day candle, with Pink trim. I then put her small portions on a Zoo Pals paper plate- Penguin and Balto got the same amount of portions on his own matching Penguin paper plate, the cats shared a Blue w/ yellow strips fish plate. I shared whatever I could actually eat, (Dairy intollerent) with Mary. I carried out her plate with the candle in her little slice of cake lit and sang "Happy B-Day" song to Aleu, she infact started to howl a bit with me, then I almost broke down crying because it was soo cute!!! Then I put her plate on the stool w/ the hanky on top of it, like a table cloth and told her to "Stay!" and to "Make a Wish", which she litterally shut her eyes for a minute or two then looked at me as if to say, "Can I eat yet?" Then I tryied to teach her how to blow out the candle, Balto even jumped in to try to help, (he's quite the expert at blowing out candles now), and unfortunetly she didn't really get the idea too well and kept trying to sniff or lick the candle instead,BMBO! Poor Girl she kept burning the tip of her nose or the tip of her tongue, eventually I let Balto blow it out for her, since he was practically demanding me to let him do it for her, lol! So he blew it out then I let I took out the candle and put it on a plate in the kitchen, then I showed the cats their treats and put it on the washing machine next to their autofeeder and they hopped right up and chowed down on it. Good thing they were the Dental kind, Seafood flavor! Then I got Balto's plate and let him eat his share. After wards I cleaned up the party supplies, etc, and let Aleu choose what movie she wanted to watch. She chose an Elvis movie, "Kissin' Causin's", then after the movie I took the dogs out for a potty brake and a hike up one of the hiking trails to get rid of that B-day treats hype, after that we all checked the mail, and then we all took a nap on my bed. That night I let her choose the Bedtime Story and she chose, a "Lady Lucke Favorite", "Cinderella: The Dog And Her Little Glass Slipper", written by Diane Goode.

The nitty gritty stuff:
Well, I finally got my money saved up to get her in to see Dr. Yakely at the Animal Eye Clinic Of Spokane, on May 6th, '08 @ 3 pm. It cost a total of $141.00 for an Eye Exam and bld test. Dr. Yakely diagnosed her visual problems as Myopia- Servere Nearsightedness and said that there's NO cure or treatment for Myopia, unless it's caused by an internal health issue, so he offered a bld test to be done at his clinic, I accepted, the bld test was for CBC-Complete Bld Count and Serum Chemistry, found out that everything was normal.... except for the Enzyme Levels in her Liver. So, Dr. Yakely told me to get her an appt. asap for another bld test, (this will be her 2nd one)for a Bile Acids Test, (one of many specilized tests for the Liver) as there was nothing more he could really do for Aleu. So, Aleu has an appt on June 10th @ 2pm w/ Dr. Fricke of Spokane Valley Animal Hospital And Health Ctr. Dr. Fricke helped my 1st pet rat to live longer than she normally would've otherwise as she had Liver Failure, she was one of the 3 rats I lost with the last 2 yrs. She was sick back in March, but he diagnosed her w/o bld tests, (he specializes in Exotic Pets, more specifically Pet Rats), he copied of info about the Liver Failure she had after he showed me the info in one of his text books, then he copied off a diet for me to follow from another text book, he also gave me for "FREE" cat/dog Pancreatic pills and told me to break them into quarters, take one quarter each morning, crush it over her Fortie Diet, and soak her food in some water for about 15 mins. He also told me to try to stay away from canned fruits and veggies as they are chock full of Sodium/Salt, which would aggrivate her condition even more, he also said to limit the amount of Cheerios, (her favorite treat) from 10 a day to maybe 1-2 a day, so thanks to him and me being a good Pet Parent, she lived 2 mos and 2 days longer than any expected. She died June 4th, 06. (Just 2 days after her 2nd B-day.) So, I KNOW he will help Aleu get better too! Please, pray for my "Baby Girl", aka The "Fur-Kid Baby" Of The Family!!!
