Name: Originally my name was Carla, but neither me or Mommy really liked that name, so Mommy renamed me after she adopted me. Mommy says she named me Lola because she could tell that I was going to be spoiled rotten and "whatever Lola wants, Lola gets!"
Out and About: I love going everywhere with Mommy! I love riding in the car, and am pretty good about staying in the front seat. Mommy still buckles me up with a seatbelt harness though just to be safe. Some of my favorite places to go are friends' houses and other hangout spots, but I also like the outdoors just like my big sisters. I'm not like a typical chihuahua I guess - I'm not timid at all and new situations, sounds, people, and other animals don't phase me at all. I love to run around and play just like the big dogs!
Family: I have a big family that loves me very much! I live with Mommy and Daddy (her boyfriend) in a nice house with a big backyard in a small rural town in central Arkansas. Mommy only works part-time, so she has plenty of time to take care of me and the rest of us pet-kids around here. My Zedi and Bubbi (grandparents on Mommy's side) live about 45 minutes away. And then of course Mommy has a lot of close friends who are just like family - some of them I even call my Aunts and Uncles too.
Training: I haven't ever been to an obedience class, but I probably need to one of these days. Mommy has been working with me on some basic commands, but I prefer to be a brat most of the time and do my own thing instead of listening to her!
Food: I'm on a grain-free/raw diet - that means that I mostly eat real biologically appropriate raw meat, bones, and organs according to a prey-model plus grain-free kibble (I rotate between Instinct, Evo, Core, and Taste of the Wild mostly, but occasionally Mommy gets us some other grain-free brands too). I officially went raw on April 27th, 2007 and I love it!

Here's what I'm thankful for:
1. That Mommy adopted me and now I have the best family ever!
2. That I was spayed so I wouldn't have to be a puppy-factory at a puppy mill/backyard breeder like my poor dog-mom.
3. That I'm spoiled rotten with all the toys and clothes that I could ever want.
4. That I have lots of siblings to play with and that they don't treat me like a puny dog and let me roughhouse like a big dog.
5. That I always get to eat really yummy food, and that I got lots of turkey for Thanksgiving!
6. That I have lots of friends here on Dogster and offline too!
7. That stuffed squeaky toys have fuzz inside them for me to pull out, and that Mommy keeps sewing up my favorite toys no matter how often I rip them open and pull out all the fuzz.
8. Turkey! Did I mention turkey! Oh, I did, but it's worth mentioning twice! TURKEY!
I had to go see the vet today. There's nothing wrong with me, but for some reason Mommy thought I should go, and the vet and the vet techs thought they should stick me with needles. The needles weren't the worst part though... they also stuck stuff up my butt! I don't see what I did to deserve that. I mean, I know I can be naughty sometimes by not listening or jumping up on the furniture without being invited, but REALLY. I think sticking stuff up my butt is kinda extreme. I gave the vet techs really dirty glares for that. But then when it was all over, I forgave them and gave out a crazy amount of kisses.
Well, after all the poking and prodding, it was announced that I'm healthy. Of course I'm healthy, I could have told them that without needing all that poking and prodding, but they never seem to listen about stuff like that. They suggested that I not eat any foods that have beet pulp in them to see if that helps clear up my tear stains, but none of the foods I eat have beat pulp (Mommy just re-checked all the ingredients). So that wasn't very helpful. They also checked my microchip, and yep, it's still there. Duh, what did they think I'd do with it, dig it out from between my shoulders and stash it somewhere?
Whoops, I just realized how long it's been since I posted here in my Diary last. Well, things have been same old same old for the most part. My big brother, Jack, went missing last month, but Mommy found him as soon as she found out he was gone from Robert. Mommy brought Jack over to the house while she was waiting for Robert to pick him up - it was great to see him again!
I spend most of the day outside now. I like being with the big dogs and getting to play. I still come inside and play with my feline brothers and sisters though. The older cats don't like to play with me as much, but Stitch is still my best kitty friend.
We have a new brother now! His name is Kody and even though he's big and was a stray, he's very well mannered and is gentle with me when we play. He's really just a big sweetheart and I like him a lot. I'm glad Mommy rescued him.
Mommy and Daddy have been cracking down on the No Jumping rule. It's hard for me because I'm so short, I always feel like I have to jump up to get them to notice me. But now I'm starting to figure out that jumping up gets me ignored, but if I stand or sit calmly, they'll love on me and praise me.
Tonight Mommy gave me a bath, and I'm feeling all nice and clean now. Wrangler got a bath too, but not Riley or Lulu. I wonder if it'll be their turns tomorrow. I think it'd be only fair.
Well I just noticed my favorite squeaky squirrel is laying all by himself in the living room. Time to go grab him and give him a good playing with.
