Quick Bio:

Ladybug most likes to lay in one certain part of the yard, matting down the sod. She likes sitting on the front porch with her rump on the step and her feet on the sidewalk, getting 'cookies', meeting our nieces when they come home from school.

Really, Ladybug has no pet peeves - she is a happy and precious little girl. She was homeless when she came to us, so I guess being homeless would be a pet peeve of hers.

Favorite Toy:
Lady's favorite toys are other dogs. She is very motherly so she loves to play with little dogs and kids, and also to go feed the cows, do chores, and just anything she can do to be around her family.

Favorite Food:
Aunt B's scrambled eggs and bacon!! Please come back and visit us soon!!

Favorite Walk:
Ladybug pretty much has the run of our 15 acres!!!

Best Tricks:
Ladybug is blind in one eye, so when she walks behind you, she very often pokes you in the butt with her nose. It's so funny and endearing, but a little unnerving when she comes up behind you unnoticed :)

Arrival Story:
Ladybug came to us about 4 years ago. She was dumped in the country near where we live and she was very clearing nursing puppies somewhere. She had a bad limp and an organically malnourished smell. We put food out for her because she was SO scrawny, but she would not come to us to eat, so we just put it way out in the yard. As we eventually moved the food closer, we eventually got to pet her and gain her trust. About 2 months after we started feeding her, we awoke one morning to find a puppy on the front porch. The next morning, there was another puppy. And the next morning, another. Lady finally trusted us enough to bring us her flea and sticker covered puppies so we could help her. We kept them together for another couple of weeks, and got the puppies shots, etc. Because our family already had several animals, we could not keep the puppies, so we found good homes to adopt them. Ladybug, however, adopted us. Sometimes I watch her sleeping so soundly in the yard that she just happened up into a few years ago, and know that she truly feels safe and content here. We love her very, very much. We are her family.

We really have no idea how old Ladybug is. Our vet says that her teeth are in fairly good shape though. The age listed here is simply an estimate.

You can never have too many friends!

But mom says you can have too many dogs. Right after she decided that Chuck was ready for a new family, a new friend arrived! He's very nice, but very scared of humans, even my mom, who is a great friend to all dogs. He's starting to warm up to her and let's her pet his ears and head now, but quick movements startle him.

We think his name while he's here will be Artie. Mom says he's a fully blood Irish Setter. I heard mom say that he looks like he's been out roaming for a while because he's so skinny. Artie has a collar and tag on, so mom called the vet's number on the tag. The vet said he hadn't been to see him since 2004, and gave mom a phone number to call, but it was out of order. I guess he's homeless! I hope mom finds him a new family soon, I like for all of my friends to be happy.

We still need a family for Chuck too, so please let us know if anyone knows a nice family!
