Arrival Story:
Raye was transported from the southernmost part of NY, (thanks to a few very kind volunteers who drove her most of the way)here to Ontario. Unfortunately, Raye did not get along with my other dogs. I have 2 here of my own, so for 3 weeks, it had been very difficult, all dogs were kept separated. Raye also has a few fixable serious health issues. She is now being sponsored by a rescue who helps blind dogs and special needs dogs, in Nova Scotia. She was flown to NS and arrived well. I have had a few of her issues fixed with surgery, and Raye will get more issues cared for in Nova Scotia.

Bio:
Raye was abandoned outside of the shelter during the night. The "people" left her tied to a bench outside. She was so devastated and confused, she dragged the bench half way to the road to try and find her owners. It took her days to stop crying and pacing. She is totally blind. I guess the previous owners could have done a lot worse if they didn't want her, it still sucks though. I wanted her, and care so much for her, but sadly she needs another home without dogs around. It is not her fault, she is a great dog, just scared and blind, does not know that other dogs will not hurt her, so she gets defensive. She is doing very well in her foster home, in Nova Scotia, and getting medical attention. UPDATE, sadly, Raye passed away, in the arms of her loving caregiver, just before X-Mas of 2008. She had cancer, and was getting stiff and sore from arthritis, Raye had a good life in rescue, and passed away with love. Bye, Raye!
