Arrival Story:
I went to the our local York County SPCA to see a dog I had seen on their website - that dog wasn't there BUT halfway around their dog section I spotted "Whitney" - I spent some time trying to get her to acknowledge me as I read her kennel card. I walked around again - spent more time with her AND she with me. I made one more loop and realized I would be inquiring about her. As I was petting her during one of my stops with her, two girls came towards me. One of them said that she had told her friend 'that lady is gonna buy that dog' I filed my application that week and went back the next Saturday - August 26th and my 47th birthday. I explained I had filed the appropriate paperwork and wanted to spend some time with her in one of the outdoor areas they had dedicated for potential dog families to check out each other. After an hour of petting, playing, kissing, and bonding, I KNEW she was going to be mine. I had six other Siberians in my life. When I was married, we had five in our Pack. Due to the divorce and my living situation, the ex kept The Girls and I missed them very very much BUT going to visit them was too tough on The Girls and on me. SO , 'Whitney' came home with me and was easily renamed Khyra. She didn't seem to acknowledge Whitney in the least bit - and it just wasn't a Sibe name IMHO. Of course, there are times when Khyra goes unheeded as well! The kennel card said she had cat and male issues AND had been a runner. She actually was an owner surrender due to her running off. Well, that is a 'fur' sure - and she is quite attracted to cats. Her male issues? Well, she got a bum rap on that - she loves them all - tall ones, short ones, ones that climb on rocks - oh wait - that's Armour Hot Dogs. Seriously, she loves EVERYONE and is an equal opp fuzzer and kisser!

My FURst Gotcha Day!

My FURst Gotcha Day!

My FURst Gotcha Day!

Last August 26th some bi-ped - I had furst seen her on August 19th -
had me taken out of my holding cell at the York County SPCA B&B -

She seemed to like me - I did many of my Sibe things to see if she
had what it took - my bestest one was using a wading pool as splash pond
-

Well - as I ran around trying to impress her, she called her hu-mom
and said something about thinking she was going to do it -

WELL - next thing you know, we were at a khounter - signing papers -
picking out collar and leash - writing on a piece of paper that was
worth some kind of money -

AND out to the orange Xterra I went - she drove me about five or so
minutes - brought me in - and said HERE SHE IS!

AND HERE IS WHERE I'VE BEEN!

I love it here! Sure, I get put in the evil box in the morning, but
my doggy nanny always lets me out when she's done doing her sleeping
thing!

I wonder what they've got planned for me ? My doggy nanny did give
my hu-mom a card - with biscuits taped onto it - I watched her write it
once my nose picked up on FOOD FOOD FOOD - it had some green paper - or
so I'm told it is green - that means we can go to PetSmart for
SOMETHING!

SOOOOO - everybody, help me celebrate MY Gotcha Day by fuzzing,
khyssing, and khlawing YOUR hu-mom and hu-men!

KHYSSES for ALL!
