I had never seen a Shih Tzu close-up. I had just lost a beautiful chihuahua mix to cancer and was hurting for another small dog. When Sammy was brought out to me in the waiting room of a Vet hospital, everyone knew he was special, even though he was partially blind from dry-eye and had a pretty bad haircut. They told me I could take him for a walk and see if we were a match. I said we were already a match but took him for the potty walk anyway. This little dog ended up being a Reggae dog or mascot to a huge number of musicians that my boyfriend and I worked with. He was backstage, we patrolled the perimeter of music festivals for lost kids, and everyone who saw him loved him.
