Arrival Story:
I always wanted a Golden but had never met "my golden". While on vacation at my sisters in the fall of 1996 I walked into petco one day looked on the bulletin board and there he was up for adoption.."free to a good home" a 1 & 1/2 yr old Male Golden Retriever, neutered, that came from a breed rescue in Jersey, I called then went to see him when he saw me it was love at first sight..we been together since living in Puerto Rico "La Isla Del Encanto"

Bio:
UPDATE: George had to be put to sleep Saturday June 28 at 10:36 am, He was suffering quietly from arthritis for the last year or so. He was on pain medication but the disease finally caught up with him. He went down Sunday June 22 (His back legs could no longer support his weight) he couldn't get back up, I tended to him as best I could but I realised his quality of life was terrible he couldnt get up not even to go potty. :( I had to bathe him everyday to clean him up, hold his bowls up to him so he could eat and drink laying down, sleep next to him and the last three days He would bark so I would go to him and keep him company. It broke my heart to see my best friend in that condition, he missed me and wanted me there by his side all the time. My baby was afraid.. With a knot in my throat I called the vet and made the appointment ..when the vet administered the euthanasia He breathed softly as he looked into my eyes and as I kissed & hugged him he let out his last breath and was gone. I hugged him and told him I loved him and to go in peace that I would soon be there with him, stroking his fur and closing his eyes, I am heartbroken, He was with me for 13 years 4 Months & 25 days, I miss him terribly. He was laid to Rest under his favorite tree in my front yard where I can look upon his grave every morning when I wake and every night when I go to bed
