Humans are so predictable

Hey pups! I just got back from a 2-3 day trip to Palm Springs. It was nice being able to sleep on the bed for once, BOL (the humans don't let me on the bed back at home).

Anyway, I thought I'd point out that I totally saw this whole trip coming. In the past two years that I've been with Mom and Grandpa/Grandma, I've become classically conditioned to certain things when it comes to "outing". For example...

Mom + leash = Walk
Mom + leash + car keys + water bottle = Dog park, yay!
Mom + Grandma + leash = Out to eat pizza at Larchmont (which means pizza crust for me, yum!)
Mom + Grandma + Dad + leash = Out to eat brunch (this is usually on Sundays)
All the humans + my stuff + humans' luggage = Road trip, baby!
Mom + car keys + NO leash = I have to stay home. Boo :(

Humans are SO predictable, 'na mean?

Have a great new year,
Winnie

Well, pups, my New Year has already gotten off to a pretty rough start...

...because I got a bath today :( :(

Hope the new year is starting off better for the rest of you!

Until next time,
Winnie

P.S. Be sure to check out my Youtube page! Since Mom is on winter break and has nothing better to do, she has started adding videos of *you guessed it* me! :)

Party girl

Hey pups!

Last night Mom took me to Melanie's house for a holiday work party. Remember Melanie? She has dog-sat me twice before when the humans went on vacation (without me!) The last time I was at their place was when Mom's work had a going-away party for her back in August.

Even though Mom doesn't technically work there anymore (it would be kind of hard to, seeing as how she goes to school in New York) I guess they still consider her part of the family! Mom was super glad to see everyone, and everyone was super glad to see me, BOL! I wrestled with Mel's dogs (Scout, Marshmallow, et al) and entertained the humans with my uber cuteness.

After 4 hours or so Mom took me back home and I was so tired I slept almost immediately. What a night!

Hope your weekends are swell,
Winnie

She's here!

Mom came home this morning! Grandma and Grandpa took me to Los Angeles International Airport. I had to stay outside with Grandma because the airport wouldn't let dogs inside. Can you believe that?!

When Mom came out I got so excited that I jumped all over her and licked her entire face clean, BOL.

Mom says that I got pudgier and that she's putting me on a diet. She calls me "sausage-like". I like sausages, so I think that's supposed to be a compliment.

Even though Mom's only going to be here for about 4-5 weeks until she leaves again (boo...) I'll make sure to take advantage of her presence. More humans --> more play time and treats!

The humans and I wish everyone a very happy holiday!

Until next time,
Winnie

I'm 2 today!

I'm a big girl now :)

Unfortunately the humans didn't make a big deal out of it as they did last year because Mom's away at college. Mom actually had to call Grandma and Grandpa to remind them that it's my birthday today- can you believe that? They did promise to get me something special, though. I hope it's something good!

Mom finished her classes today. She's got 1 week of exams and she's coming home on the 16th! I expect her to take me to the park every single day to make up for all the days that she's missed in the past 4 months.

Until next time,
Winnie

Where did Mom go?!!

It's been 2 weeks since I last saw Mom :( I miss her, and I bet Mom misses me tons too.

Grandma and Grandpa are taking good care of me. Two walks a day, occasional trips to the dog park (less than I'd like, but it's better than nothing), and my raw food.

Grandma and Grandpa talk to Mom on the phone several days a week. I wonder if they'll put me on the phone someday? I'd like to hear Mom's voice again.

Apparently Mom's coming back home for winter break in mid-December so I'll get to see her again, YAY! I hope she's studying hard and not having too much fun, BOL.

Until next time,
Winnie

I'm on Antler strike

I finished up my last bullystick today. Can you believe that? Mom didn't have another one ready for me!

She gave me a half-chewed up Antler instead and promised she would go to the pet store tomorrow to buy another bullystick.

I haven't touched my Antler.

I. Want. My. Bullystick.

This is what happens when humans aren't on top of things. Honestly, I can't trust them with anything!

Until next time,
Winnie

Happy Birthday, Mom!

Today is Mom's birthday, yay!

Unfortunately, I'm too tired to do anything! This past weekend took a toll on me, I think. So many things to do, so little time! Mom decided to go to the dog park tomorrow instead of today so that I can catch up on some sleep and rest some more.

Good thing, because I don't know how much more excitement I can take! I'm only a 17.5 lb dog, ya know?

I'll make sure I'm super rested for tonight's birthday barbecue, though. Gotta have enough energy to eat the leftover meat, BOL!

Until next time,
Winnie

Beach Day!

We went to Huntington Dog Beach today, woo! There were TONS of dogs there. Usually during car rides I get really revved up and I can't sit still, but because I was still a wee bit tired from last night, I just crawled into Grandma's lap and snoozed most of the time. Of course, once I smelled the beach I woke up instantly and got excited :)

When Mom went in the ocean I started going in after her and I actually started swimming! But then a second later a GINORMOUS wave (okay, okay...it wasn't that big) came over me and afterwards I was really wary of going back in again. Mom feels bad that my experiences with swimming haven't been too great. She tells me that when she moves into an apartment next year, she'll get me a doggie life jacket and we'll go swimming in Cayuga Lake.

Sounds fun....I think?

I wasn't as energized today as I was before, probably because I didn't get enough sleep after last night, BOL. I did run around with couple dogs, though. But mostly I wandered around the beach and got a lot of petting from random strangers. Mom was really pleased to see that I wasn't being rude to anyone! Usually I'll get anxious and jump into someone's lap and lick them to death, but today I didn't do that at all. Only when people invited me over did I go to them for some pets and scratches :) I think Mom wishes I could be like this all the time, BOL.

Originally the humans had planned to take me to Dirty Dog Wash and give me a bath after the beach, but since I wasn't too dirty they just rubbed me off with a towel. Whew!

We drove back to LA and stopped by Larchmont to eat at our favorite pizza place, Zpizza. There were several dogs that passed by and Mom and I played the Look at That! game successfully. Then we went home and Mom hosed me off in the backyard (much better than a yucky bath!).

Now I'm super tired and I th-
