It's been 2 weeks since I last saw Mom :( I miss her, and I bet Mom misses me tons too.
Grandma and Grandpa are taking good care of me. Two walks a day, occasional trips to the dog park (less than I'd like, but it's better than nothing), and my raw food.
Grandma and Grandpa talk to Mom on the phone several days a week. I wonder if they'll put me on the phone someday? I'd like to hear Mom's voice again.
Apparently Mom's coming back home for winter break in mid-December so I'll get to see her again, YAY! I hope she's studying hard and not having too much fun, BOL.
Until next time,
Winnie

I finished up my last bullystick today. Can you believe that? Mom didn't have another one ready for me!
She gave me a half-chewed up Antler instead and promised she would go to the pet store tomorrow to buy another bullystick.
I haven't touched my Antler.
I. Want. My. Bullystick.
This is what happens when humans aren't on top of things. Honestly, I can't trust them with anything!
Until next time,

Today is Mom's birthday, yay!
Unfortunately, I'm too tired to do anything! This past weekend took a toll on me, I think. So many things to do, so little time! Mom decided to go to the dog park tomorrow instead of today so that I can catch up on some sleep and rest some more.
Good thing, because I don't know how much more excitement I can take! I'm only a 17.5 lb dog, ya know?
I'll make sure I'm super rested for tonight's birthday barbecue, though. Gotta have enough energy to eat the leftover meat, BOL!
Until next time,
Winnie

We went to Huntington Dog Beach today, woo! There were TONS of dogs there. Usually during car rides I get really revved up and I can't sit still, but because I was still a wee bit tired from last night, I just crawled into Grandma's lap and snoozed most of the time. Of course, once I smelled the beach I woke up instantly and got excited :)
When Mom went in the ocean I started going in after her and I actually started swimming! But then a second later a GINORMOUS wave (okay, okay...it wasn't that big) came over me and afterwards I was really wary of going back in again. Mom feels bad that my experiences with swimming haven't been too great. She tells me that when she moves into an apartment next year, she'll get me a doggie life jacket and we'll go swimming in Cayuga Lake.
Sounds fun....I think?
I wasn't as energized today as I was before, probably because I didn't get enough sleep after last night, BOL. I did run around with couple dogs, though. But mostly I wandered around the beach and got a lot of petting from random strangers. Mom was really pleased to see that I wasn't being rude to anyone! Usually I'll get anxious and jump into someone's lap and lick them to death, but today I didn't do that at all. Only when people invited me over did I go to them for some pets and scratches :) I think Mom wishes I could be like this all the time, BOL.
Originally the humans had planned to take me to Dirty Dog Wash and give me a bath after the beach, but since I wasn't too dirty they just rubbed me off with a towel. Whew!
We drove back to LA and stopped by Larchmont to eat at our favorite pizza place, Zpizza. There were several dogs that passed by and Mom and I played the Look at That! game successfully. Then we went home and Mom hosed me off in the backyard (much better than a yucky bath!).
Now I'm super tired and I th-

My awesome day started out at 9 in the morning with a surprise trip to the dog park. Instead of the usual 1 hour stay, we stayed for 1 1/2 hours! There were very few dogs and humans there so it was actually kind of nice. I played with Gracie the 3 legged dog (and actually played tug with her!) and only jumped on Gracie's mom a couple of times (oops...)
I got home around 11 and slept for most of the day, then we went to the dog park again around 6 PM, except this time Mom was a wee bit more dressed up. We then left around 7 and went to go pick up some sushi from Grandma's restaurant. Then we headed for Melanie's house! That's where I stayed for 2 nights when Mom and Grandma/Grandpaw went to Palm Springs.
It turns out that Mom was "dressed up" because her coworkers (which includes Melanie) were throwing her a farewell party that night 'cause she's going off to College (boo...).
Even though I had gone to the dog park twice before I was super excited to be back at Melanie's house- so excited that I practically dragged Mom to the front door after she parked, BOL! I immediately started playing with Marshmallow, my play buddy. A bunch of people from Mom's work came and they ate yummy food. Mom was slightly worried about how I would react around so many people but I was too busy running around (and slipping on the hardwood floor, BOL) and playing with the other pups to care. I did give some licks to the humans sitting on the sofa, though. But generally I wasn't too anxious, yay!
We stayed from 7:30 to 11 PM. When we got home I was so pooped that I immediately started sleeping, but then Mom started watching "It's Me Or The Dog" (that show on Animal Planet) and I woke up and started barking when I heard barking sounds coming from the TV. Darn television is ruining my sleep!
Mom's birthday is the day after tomorrow, but since it's on a Monday we're probably doing something fun tomorrow (Sunday) instead. A little bird told me we might go to Huntington Dog Beach again, woo! Mom says we have to do as many fun things together as possible before she leaves for College. I think that's why we've been going to the dog park so much, BOL.
Until next time,
Winnie

I found out what the Sherpa Bag is for.
Apparently, I'm supposed to ride in that thing for 5+ hours in what Mom calls an Airplane.
SAY WHAT?!
No.
Nuh uh.
NO WAY.
We'll see about that, Mom.

Yesterday was Grandpaw's birthday (he turned 53!) and the humans went out to eat dinner without me. They said that dogs weren't allowed in the restaurant, even outside. Can you believe that?!
I think someone needs to remind them that I'm the one who always cheers up Grandpaw when he's stressed out.
Hmph!

Mom received a squishy box in the mail today. It's black, has straps on it, and a soft fluffy pad inside. Mom calls it a Sherpa Bag. She says it's used for travel. Tonight after dinner Mom sat down with a clicker and we played 101 Things To Do With A Box!
But this Box isn't like the other ones. If I try to stand on it, it collapses! The game was also different because Mom only clicked me for going INSIDE.
I think someone needs to review the rules of this Game with Mom.
Anyway, by the end of the session I was sticking most of my body in the so-called Sherpa Bag (my Corgi butt still stuck out of the Box) and laying down. Mom's really pleased- and it only took half a stick of string cheese!
I still don't know why we have this Sherpa Bag. Maybe it has something to do with the 4 boxes that the FedEx Guy took away yesterday? Mom says it has a lot of her stuff in it.
I guess Mom will be going away, but if that's the case, don't you think Mom needs a bigger Sherpa Bag? I don't think she would fit in that itty bitty thing.
Silly human!
Until next time,
Winnie
---EDIT---
So a few hours later Mom tried the Box game with me again, but this time she closed the side flap and opened up the top flap. I had no problem jumping in, and Mom realized she should've tried this from the beginning. BOL. She did a lot of C/Ts for me staying in a Down and I got tons of yummy treats for staying still!
Then Mom progressed to closing the zippers halfway and did more C/Ts. Overall we made a lot of progress tonight. I still don't understand why Mom likes it when I go inside, but oh well.

Mom's been taking me to the dog park (aka Mom's old high school) almost every other day. I can't say I'm bothered by this one bit! They have a ginormous front lawn with yummy grass to eat.
Mom's (and Grandpaw's) birthday is coming up this month. I wonder what she has in store for that day?
I hope you other Dogsters are enjoying the summer. Stay nice and cool!
Until next time,

Apparently, Mom and her parents (Grandpa and Grammie) are going to Palm Springs for the weekend. I get to stay with Melanie and her awesome dogs- Scout, Oscar, Nochi, Chauncey, Marshmallow, and Winnie (the Basset Hound). Yes, she has a lot of dogs, BOL.
I stayed with them last fall for a 1 night/2 days and had such a good time! When Mom picked me up I did my Act of Depression (it was my first try, I think I nailed it!) during the car ride back home and Mom felt so sorry for me because I just wasn't acting like myself (which was the point, ya know?). I'm super excited to go back again- this time I'm staying for 2 nights!
In the meantime, I've noticed Mom's been doing a lot of packing lately. Mom and Grammie are moving a bunch of stuff to the 3rd bathroom, the one we don't use. She says it's for College. From what I see, College isn't a dog park. And I can't come along. Boo. But Mom does keep mentioning someone named Morgan. She says I'll be staying with her and a dog named Sirius for the next 10 months, starting late August.
Well...as long as I continue to get my usual raw food and treats, I suppose it shouldn't be too bad living with this Morgan person. Plus, I'll be around dogs 24/7, yay!
I hope you other pups are having a great summer. Enjoy it before it ends!
Until next time,
Winnie

I suppose I should’ve written this entry weeks ago but Mom was lazy (as usual).
On the weekend of July 12-13 the humans and I drove down to Wags for Wishes in Chula Vista, CA. They had a variety of events for dogs to participate in- lure coursing, sprints, flyball, agility, conformation, obedience, Splash Dogs, and disc dogs. There were also a ton of vendors who gave out samples and such. Mom didn’t get any because there weren’t any raw vendors. Boo :(
The conformation and obedience were only available to Australian Shepherds and I couldn’t compete in flyball, agility, or disc dogs because I didn’t know how to (Note to self: Tell Mom to enroll me in some classes!) So Mom registered me for lure coursing, sprints, Splash Dogs, and an agility class.
On Saturday we arrived a bit late so we squeezed in some lure coursing and sprints. In the beginning I showed interest in the lure coursing but I figured that some other silly pup could spend his time chasing the plastic bags and I pooped in the middle of the field instead! BOL. I did a lot better with the sprints though- I went after the furry little tail like lightning each time! Mom thinks I do better with short distance running rather than long distance. I think she’s right.
We stayed at the La Quinta Inn…when Grandpa and Grammie went shopping Mom took me to something called a Pool. The Pool is a ginormous bath tub filled with water. Mom picked me up and gently set me into the pool while holding onto my belly.
The NERVE!
Now, for those of you who underestimate my Corgi abilities- I know how to swim because I did once in a creek when the humans and I went on a day camping trip, but that doesn’t mean I LIKE doing it! I swam furiously towards the exit and shook myself off. I refused to get in the pool afterwards, even though Mom tried luring me in with some cheese. She gave up after a while, dried me off, and we went back to the hotel room. Mom figured that I certainly wouldn’t JUMP into a Pool for Splash Dogs, so she decided to scratch me from the competition. Whew!
On Sunday I did another 2 sprint runs and I also participated in an agility class where I finished up by doing a mini course with 2 jumps, a mini dog walk, and a tunnel! I know how to weave 6 poles but it was so hot that we stopped after that.
All in all, Wags for Wishes was fun but it definitely would have been a lot more fun if I’d competed in flyball or agility as well.
Who knows? Maybe next year ;)

I haven't written in my diary in ages! In the past few months I've been to the off leash dog beach twice (Huntington Beach, then Long Beach), day camping once, and Mom graduated from high school!
Yesterday Grandma's family came over for some Korean BBQ and dinner. I got to meet Mom's grandma, aunts, uncles, and cousins. I'm normally a raw fed dog, but tonight I got to snack on all sorts of cooked junk food. In the morning I had a can of sardines (this was actually supposed to be part of my Sunday meal). During lunch I snacked on a few pizza crusts and dinner was the highlight of all- I got bits and pieces of yummy Korean BBQ and nectarines and Korean melons for dessert, woo! Mom wasn't too pleased that I had such abnormal food but she figured it wasn't too big of a deal to have junk food very occasionally.
The family stayed from 5-9 PM ish, and I patrolled the backyard (where everyone was eating) constantly to make sure that everything was going well. By the end of the night the women were inside talking and the men were outside drinking beer, and I decided to stay with the boys. I sat in my own chair next to Grandpa and showed off all my tricks (I know Grandpa always keeps some peanuts in his pocket so I don't hesitate to strut my stuff). Once during the evening I had a major case of zoomies and everyone laughed at me as I ran around the backyard like a tornado.
When everyone left I practically fell asleep as soon as I went inside my crate. Whew, what a night!
A little bird told me that Mom, Grandma, Grandpa, and I are going to this event called Wags for Wishes in two weeks. Supposedly I get to participate in a whole bunch of events- herding, lure coursing, Jack Russell Terrier sprints, Splash Dogs, and agility! I'm excited- I have high hopes for this event!
Until next time,
Winnie

Gosh, I really need to tell mom not to lag on my diary entries. It's been almost a week since my exciting event!
Mom, Grandpa, and I drove to Sunland, CA on Saturday the 9th for the Herding Instinct Test. It was hosted by the Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club of Southern California (Mom, have you joined yet???) and was open to both Pembrokes and Cardigans (Mom, how come those Cardis have tails and I don't?? Can I have one for my birthday?)
It was a long 3, hot hours before my turn in the ring. Mom was worried that I would be too tired to do anything by the time I took the test...boy, did I prove her wrong!
It turns out I'm a total natural (well, duh..)! The judge said I passed with flying colors and that I was "quite something". She said that that my performance showed that "size does not mean anything" (I'm only 17 lb!). Grandpa took a couple pictures and a video clip, all of which are on my page
I did get distracted a few times by a dashing young sable Corgi and Border Collie on other side of the ring, but all is well. I received a boring ol' Herding Instinct Certificate as a reward. Pfft. No treats? No toys?
I'm going to have to have a talk with the director of this Pembroke Welsh Corgi Club..
Corgi wags and kisses,
Winnie
P.S. Happy Valentine's Day!

Mom was REALLY excited yesterday afternoon. She told me that she got accepted to Cornell University and that she'll attend there starting the fall of 2008..
I don't know what this Cornell is. I hope it's a dog park!
EDIT
OMD. Remember that Chuckit! Flying Squirrel that my mom got me for my Birthday 2-3 weeks ago? The one that landed on the roof the same day Mom got it? (Silly mom!) Well, due to a recent bout of very windy weather, it got blown off the roof and into the backyard!
YAY! Mom and I had a good session of squirrel-throwing. There's certainly a lesson to be learned here, though- humans need to be more careful of how they throw our toys!

Yay! I don't know what a Birthday is, but apparently it involves yummy food and treats. Mom made homemade chicken jerky last night in the oven, and today she made me a meat cake out of ground beef and mashed potato icing. Grampie bought me a bunch of overpriced treats (well, Mom says they're overpriced...) from Three Dog Bakery, and Mom's taking me to the dog park this Friday (well, she takes me every Friday...)
I've heard that dogs who are 1 are more Mature, as they call it.
Hah! Mom, don't get too hopeful. I'll always be a puppy on the inside.

Mom took me to the pet store today to buy some birthday presents. My birthday isn't until Wednesday (the 5th), but she figured she wouldn't have time to go on a weekday. She got me a Chuckit! Flying Squirrel, Smokehouse Lammy treats (made in the USA, yay!), Dogswell Duck Breasts, and reindeer antlers for me to wear on Christmas (I'm still not sure about the last present, BOL)
She says that my big present is yet to come- Grammie (Mom's mom) bought me 50 12" bullysticks online! They should come sometime this week. Whee!
I went absolutely NUTS for the Smokehouse lamb lungs. Mom said she'll buy more of them when we run out. We were playing with the Flying Squirrel, but then Mom threw it too high and it went right onto the roof. Silly human. She doesn't know whether or not to buy another one, since it was a whopping $12.99!
Mom also bought gifts for our Secret Santa recipient. She says I'm not supposed to tell anyone what it is until they get it. I'd better stay quiet!
I can't wait for my birthday meal- boneless lamb leg, and maybe a meat cake!
Wags and kisses,
Winnie

Three entries in three days. That's a record for me!
Today Mom and I went to the pet store. They were having a Buy-one-treat-get-one-free Halloween sale. Mom got two 12" bullysticks, two moo tubes, and two Lakse Kronch salmon treat bags. Yum!
Now, if I can just convince Mom to get a second Corgi...

Today Mom and I went to the dog park, but the park didn't look the same as usual. Today, there was a TENT smack in the middle of the park! The humans just ignored it. It was an odd sight to both the humans and dogs. We weren't sure if there was anybody inside. The other dogs were suspicious of it too, but after a while we ignored it and played around it.
And then, about 40 minutes after I arrived, the tent started unzipping, and we saw humans inside! All of us went into a barking frenzy and the humans started laughing, including Mom. Mom and the other humans couldn't believe that there were people inside all this time!
How dare these intruders appear out of nowhere, in our territory, nonetheless! Sheesh.
The other dogs calmed down after a short while, but I wanted to prove to Mom that I was a great guard dog and continued to bark at the Tent Humans as they started to pack up. Mom got annoyed then and took me away. Pfft.
Humans never appreciate anything we do.

I haven't updated y'all in a while, so I decided to take my precious time to write an entry. I'm a busy dog, ya know?
So two days ago, Mom was chasing me around the backyard and I was running, running, and running...when I suddenly stopped and started limping! Mom came over and she saw blood on my collar, and some on the grass. She rolled me over onto my back and saw that one of my nails on my front paw was torn! The entire thing was torn and my paw was pretty bloody. I was such a good girl though- I didn't even yelp or whine or anything, although I didn't like Mom touching my paw. She rinsed it off with a wet cloth...
Then she tried to take it off! The NERVE!
I, of course, squirmed and wiggled like there was no end and Mom gave up. Muahaha. The wiggle trick always works, I tell you! So anyway, she wrapped it up with a sock and I fell asleep in my crate. When I woke up, I took off the sock. Harharhar. Mom tried to put it back on me, but after my beauty sleep I was full of energy and kept taking it off. She didn't have any bandage tape in the house, so there was no point in trying to put the sock on me again if it was going to keep slipping off.
I went to the vet yesterday, and mean Dr. Suehiro took off the nail :( Pooey. He put this yellow powder on me and gave Mom some antibiotics to take home. Grreeeat. More pills.
Mom's so busy with college applications and essays that she can't take me to the dog park more than once a week. Hmmph. Although she did mention that one of her essays was about raw feeding, so I might forgive her just a little. She also says that gas prices are way too high right now. Gas prices, schmas prices. I'll run my way over there if I have to! Sheesh.
On another note, my prayers go out to those poor pups and other animals affected by the SoCal fires. I'm lucky to be in the LA area where there aren't any fires, but now the weather's really hot and the sky's yucky. Hopefully, the fires will be contained very soon.
Until next time,
Winnie the Corgi

Yesterday was Mom's birthday. I took her to the dog park after obedience class and I entertained her by running around and playing with the other dogs. I'm sure she had a lot of fun watching me. And you know what? I surprised Mom today with another trip to the park! This time there were almost 20 dogs there. I found a nice mud puddle to lie in and instigated a good game of chase. She started flapping her arms and yelling my name. I happily complied and started rolling around in the mud. Gosh, I didn't know mud would make her that happy! After an hour at the park, Mom drove me back while grumbling about the muddy car seat. When we got home, she gave me a BATH!
Hmph. Ungrateful humans.

Today I turn 8 months old! Woohoo. Mom gave me a special breakfast- Nature's Variety Lamb Medallions! You know what Mom found out today?
I LOVE LAMB!
Mom decided to finally take me to this place she's been wanting to go to- It's called Rancho Park and there's a golf course and a recreation center right next to it. There's a lot of grass where we pups can run around in. It's supposed to be a leash-only place, but there's a small area where the humans let us off-leash anyway. I've never been off leash, so Mom brought along my 30 ft. training lead. Then we saw several dogs running around and playing, so Mom felt bad and decided to take the plunge. She took the lead off...
I was free!
Mom took some good shots and a video of me playing with my new friends- one of them is named Vindy but I never found out the name of the two other dogs. I stayed with the other pups and humans and didn't run off anywhere. Mom was very pleased. She says we'll return again very soon and she won't bring the long lead anymore. Woohoo! I look forward to my next trip.
Corgi kisses,
Winnie

Today Mom drove me to Roxbury Park for my first obedience class taught by Mona Lindau-Webb. We did the basics (sit, stay), and Mom was proud that I already knew them, and more! I showed Mona's assistant my perfect "Leave it" and Mom and I secretly practiced our Down when no one was looking, not that it needed any practicing, of course. Ahem. My Downs are always perfect.
My biggest weakness was lunging and pulling on the leash. I couldn't help it, there were at least 8 other dogs and humans there! Thankfully I didn't bark like those two Miniature Poodles and that Jack Russell. How undignified. Mom hopes that she'll get me to heel by the end of the course. We'll see about that.
Then Mona started a short lecture on dog nutrition, which Mom was very glad about. As soon as Mona started a rant against low-quality kibble, Mom immediately knew that she would like this woman. She tentatively raised her hand and asked, "What about raw?" To her delight, Mona approved of raw and later went ahead to say that raw bones were much better than cooked bones.
After the class, Mom drove me to Centinela Feed & Supplies and I got my very own loofah toy! I was looking longingly at the large size loofah but Mom got the small one. Pfft. It's purple and makes a funny deep squeaky sound, unlike other squeakies that I've got. When we got home, I wrestled with it and we engaged in a fierce battle of canine vs. squeaker. I think I won.
Until next time,
Winnie

I'm pretty peeved that Mom's not taking me to Korea with her in August. If she's taking Grandma with her, why can't she take me? She'd better bring back something for me. Although I do get to lounge on the couch with Dad for two weeks...
On a better note, my portrait's finished! Kathryn will mail it tomorrow and it should arrive by Monday.
I'm trying to convince Mom to take it with her to Korea so that she won't forget me.
I've finally begun to de-stuff my newest toy. It's a stuffed champagne bottle. I've ripped apart one of the seams and the insides are beginning to come out.
I, Winnie, have triumphed once again.
Besides, I've always wanted one of those loofah dogs. They've got a nice squeak.

Last week, I encountered a steel gray cat during one of my evening walks. Mom thought it was beautiful, but I'm sure she was just saying that. Everyone knows I'm the most ridiculously good-looking puppy out there.
Mom thinks it's a stray, but she could be wrong. I've encountered these silly creatures called "Cats" before at the animal hospital where Mom works, and I still can't seem to figure them out. They've got tiny noses and mouths and they hiss at me when I try to play with them! Honestly, I don't understand why some Humans like them so much. Wouldn't you rather have a Dog that can play fetch, rather than a Cat that will hiss at you?
Anyway, Mom and I saw the same cat tonight during our walk, and Mom decided to linger a bit to see how we would interact. I sniffed its butt and it made a strange noise that I've never heard before! I immediately put on my guard and sat down. The Cat stared back at me, and I stared back with the most fixed look. Mom started laughing, but we both ignored her and continued our staring contest for about 20 seconds. Then the Cat started to walk away! I followed her indignantly, dragging Mom on the leash. It managed to escape under a bush and Mom refused to let me follow her any further. Darn. Mom has made the conclusion that I'm not afraid nor wary of cats. I just like to play with them!
On another note, Mom's pleased that my guard hairs are starting to grow back. She got carried away with her Furminator and made my rump area a brindle color! Silly human. But now it's getting back to normal and people can admire my shiny coat more than ever.
Oh, and my portrait's almost finished! You can follow my progress here. Isn't Kathryn Beals talented?

I'm back from my San Diego trip! It was quite fun. We only stayed for 1 night/2 days though :(. Coronado's such a dog-friendly city! We stayed at Loews Coronado Bay Resort/Spa and I even got my own doggie placemat, bowl, and treats. I felt like such a princess :D. We went to a small restaurant where there were dogs everywhere sitting with their family on the patio! I met another Corgi who slipped out of her collar twice while Mom and her Mom were chatting. Sneaky girl! But then later in the hotel room...I slipped out of MY collar for the first time! Harharhar. We Corgis have a secret way of communicating. Mom thinks the other Corgi taught me how to slip out of the collar. How absurd! *sniggers*
This morning we stopped by the Coronado Dog Beach where I got to play in the water and sand for the first time! Grandpaw took pictures but they're not very good because he was so far away :(. Afterwards, I was so dirty that Mom and Grandma took me to Wag 'n Tails to bathe me. I was so exhausted that I slept in the car for nearly the whole 2 1/2 hour ride! Then at the gas station, Mom took me out of the car and gave me a quick Furminating session. I think she's getting too obsessed with this Furminator that she got on Saturday. She uses it every chance she gets! Jeez.
Anyway, the dog beach was MUCH fun and I really hope I get to go to a beach that's more nearby.
P.S. Mom got me another shirt *groans* It's black and has the word "Cookie Monster" written on the back.
What am I, a doll?

Why is Mom taking out clothes from her closet? And why is she putting all my stuff into a bag? They're not leaving me....
..are they?!?!
P.S. Mom's discovered that I hate "balloons". Today we were on our night walk when we passed by a house celebrating a baby shower. There were these huge, shiny, round THINGS outside and they moved! I started growling and barking at it and Mom got embarrassed because there were a man outside talking on his phone. Pfft, I think the real issue was to make these balloons go away! Just wait..the next time I see one I'll give it all I've got! Grr.
In the meantime, wht is there a huge suitcase on the floor????

Mom says we're going somewhere called "San Diego" next Sunday. It's a 140 mile drive with Grandpaw, Grandma, Mom, and I! I hope She buys enough bully sticks, moo tubes, and flossies to keep me busy! Mom's pretty excited. She keeps talking about a "Dog Beach". I still haven't figured out what it is! We're staying at Loews Coronado Bay Resort & Spa, but the trip's will only last 2 days. The best part is that they're extremely pet-friendly!
I'll update on this "San Diego" place when I get back on the 24th!

Congratulations to the finalists! :D

She found Tennis Ball. It was in plain sight in the backyard! She wonders how she could have missed it when it was right under her nose.
Tennis Ball and I romped together in a joyous reunion this afternoon. We celebrated (or at least I did) with a nice meal of chicken feet (which She had bought earlier today) and liver. Yum!
I think She's getting me a new leash and harness tomorrow. I can't wait!

I'm deeply upset. My best buddy, TB (aka tennis ball) has become lost in the deep dark jungle of my backyard kingdom. Neither She nor I knows where it is- perhaps in a flower pot? in the bushes?
I may never find out.
On the bright side, She went meat shopping yesterday AND today! She got: pork snout, beef chuck, fresh mackerel, fresh rainbow trout, chicken gizzards, and cow feet. Then, this morning, we walked to Centinela Feed & Supplies and I got my first moo tube.
I think I'm in heaven.

I thought I might update on the events of his past week. I got "spayed" on Wednesday, but I don't remember much. She brought my favorite Turkey Jerky when She came to pick me up the next day! Meanwhile, I'd become best friends with Bruno the black pittie. I think he thinks I'm an annoying little sister. I keep trying to bite his ear! We both remained very obedient so that She would give us the treats. Then my favorite buddy Scout came and we all romped in the courtyard! I was so tired out that I slept in the car on the way home and for a few more hours for the rest of the day.
So on Saturday, I'm patiently waiting for my breakfast when She takes out from the ziplock bag not chicken, but this large thing that She calls a "pork hock". I nibbled at it and licked it, but the thick pork skin isn't very appealing to me. I waited until She went back inside to go to the bathroom, and I hid it somewhere deep in the bushes. Muahaha. She will never know where it went! When She came back out, I could see the perplexed look on her face. Silly humans. I will never understand why they don't get the concept of burying items. This is why canines are so much more developed than these "humans".
Thankfully, She gave me my usual chicken for dinner and my daily yogurt. Whew! I'll be more careful next time and sniff my meal to make sure it's not any different. She keeps saying something about "beef". Maybe when I'm more adventurous I'll attempt to try that.
Meanwhile, I've learned this new game that calls "catch". It's an unusual game but quite fun! She throws my tennis ball across the yard. Knowing me, I'll chase anything that moves. So off I went, growling as usual when I caught the ball. I didn't understand why She would throw it in the first place when it was right next to her, so I decided to be nice and bring it back. She looked very pleased. Then She tried to take it away! No way, missy. If you throw a ball and expect me to catch it, you're not getting it back! But my small teeth weren't enough for her hands, and before I knew it, She was throwing it across the yard again! Words could not express the fun I had running and catching the ball. She did the same thing as before over and over, and I finally understood the game. Heck, if enjoys it so much, I might as well too. I can't wait for the next time I play!

I’ve finally decided to get off my rump and start a diary. Today was full of new sights and smells. Mom took me to the Grove! There were so many people and I saw some that actually looked like me! There was this cute Cocker Spaniel that I played with for a few minutes while Mom chatted with her mom. All the passersby kept saying how cute I was, and I think at least 20 people came up to pet me, but I’m not surprised. I’m cute as hell, and everyone knows it! Mom had a hard time keeping me from jumping up on people as they came over to pet me. She’s been contemplating more and more about taking me to obedience classes, but she’s so busy with her AP exams and such that I’ll probably start taking them during the summer.
Mom got me this cute shirt that says “Security” on it! It’s too big for me right now, but when I grow more, I’ll be able to wear it. No one messes with security! Then Mom felt like spoiling me some more and got me a cookie from Three Dog Bakery, which happens to be at Farmer’s Market, right at the Grove. I ate a piece in the car and got the backseat all wet, which made Mom follow my head around with a tissue trying to wipe my saliva off. But I thought she was trying to take my treat away, so I kept moving to the other side, making the seat even more wet. Mom finally gave up and let me eat in peace. Thank dog! When we got home, I was so pooped out that I went to sleep right away.
Next week, Mom plans to take me to the dog park for the first time. I’m so excited!
xoxo Winnie
