I'm so small!

Well, it's been hard work for me since day one. I'm the youngest and smallest puppy of a litter of 9, and it's constantly made known to me! I have 4 sisters and 4 brothers, and fighting for attention has been something I've just had to get used to. I don't get the choiciest pieces of food, or the best sleeping spot, but I try not to let it get me down, and mom says she loves me just as much as the others.

It seems like strange two-legged creatures keep coming to visit us recently. Some I recognise the smells of, from before my eyes were open, and some are completely new. They're a bit scary, but the boss two-legged creature who is here all the time makes us feel like it is ok, so I'm not very scared. One two-legger was holding me for a long time the other day, and making lots of strange sounds with a little square object, and putting me in different poses. I thought she was very strange but she's been here before.

Mom tells us that one day soon a lot of us will be going to new homes, and leaving our brothers and sisters behind. At first I was upset, but then I thought that maybe I wouldn't have to fight for attention any more, so I'm actually quite happy about that! I wonder if I will go to the home of the strange two-legger that kept holding me? She seemed nice enough, and was scratching behind my ears which I like very much. I think I would be happy with her! But it will be strange leaving my mom and other family behind.
