Arrival Story: The breeder we got Maddie from e-mailed us and said that Maddie's sister had been returned to them and we could have her for FREE IF we wanted her. When we asked WHY she was returned we were told that Miley was "too ugly" for the woman who originally bought her. She had bought Miley for her grandson; he picked Miley out and was "totally in love" with her, but Grandma thought Miley was too ugly to keep. She even had Miley's tail bobbed off in an attempt to make her look more like what she wanted. When she returned Miley she brought her grandson with her and he cried real hard when Miley was taken away. He didn't want another dog. The breeder promised him that she would find his puppy a good home.
When we first saw Miley we thought she was "unique" looking; ugly is an insult. We took Maddie with us when we went to see Miley the first time and they knew one another immediately and began to play the instant Miley was out of the enclosure. My daughter fell in love with Miley the same way she did with Maddie and so we brought her home with us. She is family now!! Today we e-mailed the breeder and asked her to tell "grandma" that Miley is in a good place, very loved and also that IF grandma can find it in her heart to do so we would like for her grandson to get to see Miley now that she's with us. It may make his heart hurt less?? We can send pictures and let him visit anytime he wants to. (UPDATE: No one has called about Miley and after this long time we think it may be best that the other family is out of her life. She showed signs of abuse when we got her. I'm sure she wasn't treated well in the first home she had, but she is LOVED here!!)
Bio: Miley is part Cockapoo, part terrier and part Shizu (don't know how to spell that one. She also has a heart full of love. She doesn't bark (unlike her sister!!), and she didn't have any trouble at all adapting to our home. She walked in and BOOM!! she knew she was home. (UPDATE: Miley HATES cats which is a problem since we have one in the house. We've reached a solution that works, but we're going to try to get Miley to tolerate our cat. Pray it works)
