Do we need to celebrate the 4th of July with such loud bangs? It's scary! I have not been this scared since... since.. well, actually I have never been this scared. The fireworks and firecrackers make vacuum cleaners and hair dryers seem tame. Friday was full of loud bangs that I could not anticipate, have no control, and could not escape. I went from room to room, checking to see if anything or anyone has been blown away. Is there any place in here that is safe? I really need to pee, but I think I"ll have to hold it.
Daddy built me a bomb shelter surrouned by boxes and mommy's computer. He had blankets set up for me to lay down, but I had to be alert in case I need to run for it. Mom had my bed nestled in a corner in the living room surrounded by the sofa and chairs and lots of pillows. I tried to relax there, but those didn't feel safe enough. Finally I crawled into daddy's lap and watched him play Team Fortress, but it didn't help.
I don't think I've ever looked so pathetic, it was embarrassing. I was so close to crying, but I was too busy and scared and forget to blink. Would I get bug eyes from staring and not blinking?
Yesterday, mom and dad caught me hiding underneath the blankets in bed. Mom thought I was missing, cuz I usually sleep on the blankets and dad came in as I was crawling out. There goes my remaining dignity...
Anyways, I think it's all over. I think.. it is after all Sunday afternoon now.. wait..there goes another bang ***wahhhh***

Every six months is a long time to wait to see grandma again, that's for sure.
I miss the hugs/kisses in the morning, evening, and bedtime--I made sure to snuggle in bed.
I miss all the walks she would take me on around the block--at least 5 times a day, wow.
I miss the car rides with grandma holding me and petting me--I'm all content and lying in her lap.
Grandma, will you ever be back again?

Fort Funston was a blast! I met several other corgis and my friends (Rusty, Makena, and Dallas) were there..O and mommy and daddy both went. I went up to say hi to Dallas, but she was busy with her ball so I licked her teeth. Then I went up to Makena, who was busy digging a hole. The best way to get a doggy's attention is to be a part of what they're doing, sooo... I went right in and was part of the hole! Well, it worked alright. Makena just ended up trying to dig around me.
I didn't see my frisbee, so I ended up just playing chase with whoever was around that wanted to play. Well, I do have one confession to make, but don't tell Makena. I was just standing around minding my own business when Makena's daddy threw a ball. Makena turned and ran full speed.. tripped over me.. stumbled and fell (legs still running) and finally when she got up she still charged for the ball. I moved out of there, but sure enough as soon as she turned around.. she stared at the spot she fell. Then she looked at me and then Rusty with a vengeance. Thank goodness she can't pinpoint it to me *phew*
I went back to playing and by the time we got close to leaving, daddy decided it was time for my swimming lessons again. Umm.. I thought I made it clear that I don't really care to swim??!! I think it's a conspiracy. Last time we came, mommy brought me in and made me swim. This time daddy brought me to the waves and made me swim back. Boy did I have to move my legs! Then I tried to stay as far away as possible from daddy. Even treats can't trick me. O, I also stayed away from mommy in case she's in on it. By the time we got back to the car and got home, I was exhausted. Another happy day!
