Arrival Story: over 14 years ago in a small town in texas a young women coming back home from college saw maggie on the side of the road eating out of a burger king bag. maggie was very skinny and matted. luckily for maggie, this young women had a kind soul and took it upon herself to rescue maggie. she got out of her car and slowly went towards maggie. of course, maggie was very scared and ran from her seeking a nearby shelter. the young women drove back into town and with the change in the bottom of her purse she bought maggie some food. with this food she was able to gain maggie's trust and picked her up and put her in the backseat of the car. the young women nurtured maggie back to health and kept maggie for a few months. however, with already four other dogs in the house maggie did not get the attention and love she deserved. so, the young women decided to take maggie to a local animal shelter in hopes that she would be adopted by a loving family..... and that family was us..... January, 20th, 1990

Bio: maggie lived a long and loving life with me and my family. she was always with us and thats all she asked for. i grew up with maggie, from age 7 to almost 22. she was my little girl. i loved her so much and i always took great care of her. unfortunetly, maggie was diagnosed with terminal cancer(tumors in the lung and bladder) and congestive heart failure. maggie started to decline and we noticed that she was suffering. it took all my love and my courage to save her from pain and a likely horrible death. on june 17th, 2004. we gave maggie a wonderful day with us. we hugged her, kissed her, and played with her. we took the long scenic drive to our vet clinic, took her outside, and said our goodbyes..... maggie, i will always love you.
