Pet-Peeves:
Having my tail pulled, my rear end being touched, when my sister Sasha is mean to me, oh and carrides...I get sick

Favorite Toy:
Anything Ican get my teeth into, but I love to steal my moms stuffed tigers.

Favorite Food:
Anything that I can steal from my humans!!!

Favorite Walk:
Around the neighborhood, and the walk into the animal hospital where my momma works. I love to go there!

Best Tricks:
I hop like a kangaroo, and talking (husky talk that is)

Arrival Story:
In August of 06 tried to rescue a 2 yr old shepherd/husky mix, but she and my older husky, Sasha did not get along at all. So on the same day I had to give up the other dog I found a breeder that had puppies available.. When we arrived there was this little husky sitting off to the side just watching her siblings fight for my attention. I took her home that day.

Bio:
From the get-go Nadya had bad diarrhea. After several different foods and a biopsy of her intestines we found that Nadya has irritable bowel syndrome (IBS). Therefore she has to be on a special diet that breaks all the proteins and fibers down in her food. Nadya also has a little bit of an attention problem, basically shes constantly going 100mph, hence the ADD nickname we gave her. But problems aside I would not trade my "little" husky for the world.

Sweet sweet freedom...

So yesterday I had my 2nd taste of freedom. Yep that's right I got loose!! It started out with Mom getting ready to take me on a walk. We have a routine and I know that she when opens the door to get my harness and leash I have to stay inside but the next time that door opens I get to go on a walk! So Mom was trying to get me into my harness and I was so excited I was squirming all around not making it easy for her when my grandma opened the door to take something to the car. I bolted out the door. I ran around for a few minutes and then went into the woods/overgrowth beside our house. After a few minutes in there I let Mom catch me since she looked so worried. It was only about 10 minutes but man was it worth it!!

Mom here- Yep Nadya made her great escape yesterday afternoon. When she ran out the door all I could say to my mom was "what were you thinking!!" I ran out after Noti and at that time she hadn't yet realized that she was completely free. I guess she thought we were still going on our walk! Well she quickly figured it out and she was off. She went to the small field (powerlines) beside our house and investigated an almost dried up creek and some small trees. Then she doubled back to the house and ran along the fence into the woods/overgrowth that borders my house. In there she wasn't really trying to get away or anything she was just investigating. Eventually she cut up into some thorns and more overgrowth where she was confronted with a small dropoff into another part of the creek. When she realized it was either jump or I catch her she sat down and let me leash her.

We have a lot of small animals that tromp all thru there at night and I think Noti was just trying to figure out what always causes the noises because she wasn't in run mode. More like hum I've never been back here before. Scared the begeezes out of me though. Needless to say Nadya did not get her real walk yesterday. But she was a happy camper regardless!

Me?, I lost a few years off of my life and I think I gained a few gray hairs.

Rally for Hoochie and Raley!!

Hello Friends,

Not long ago my pals Hoochie and Raley were shot at point blank range by a mad-man while their owner pleaded for him to stop. By some miracle, Hoochie and Raley survived the horrendous ordeal and now is the time to bring their shooter to justice.

(From voicesforella.org)

There will be a peaceful rally Tuesday, September 23rd at 10am at 415 North Orange Avenue Orlando, Florida 32801in Downtown Orlando for the 2 husky dogs that were shot in Orlando back on May 19th. Hoochie and Raley were shot by Christopher Comins in a field occupied by some cattle after escaping from their owner. Although they posed no threat to the cows, Comins repeatedly shot the dogs in the eye, back, and legs, even as the owner was retrieving them. It was then found that Comins has a criminal record including misuse of a firearm from 2005 when he put a gun to a boy's head. In that case, he was initially charged with a felony but then pled the charge down to a misdemeanor. We do not want to see him also get away with shooting animals.

Many of us have been involved in this case since the beginning, advocating for the dogs and seeking justice from our authorities. Initially, Orange County Sheriff was not going to pursue a criminal investigation for the shooting of the dogs. They felt Comins was within his rights even though he did not own the land or the cattle. However, after calls by concerned citizens, the case was re-opened. When the Sheriff's Office concluded their investigation, they felt that Comins should only be charged with misdemeanor animal cruelty for the 7th (final) shot. This case has been sent to the Orange County State Attorney's Office. The State Attorney ultimately decides what charges should be formally filed, if any.

We are holding this rally to show the State Attorney that we want FELONY animal cruelty charges brought against the shooter, Christopher Comins, for repeatedly and intentionally shooting Hoochie and Raley. We will be in a grassy area near the courthouse/state attorney's office, which is in downtown Orlando at 415 North Orange Avenue, Orlando, Florida 32801. Just look for people with signs!

Rally Guidelines:
Same as usual. Please keep this peaceful...no cursing, screaming, etc
Signs must be hand-held in Orlando. This means you cannot have a sign
that has a pole attached. In the past, the city has received
complaints from people that protesters threatened them with the
poles/sticks/etc that were supporting the sign. I suggest just a foam
board or a sheet of poster board, which you can buy at Wal-Mart. Your
"hand-held" sign can be as large as you want according to code
enforcement.
Please do not block any of the walkways, doors, etc. Additionally, if
an officer tells you to move away from an area, you must do so.
Please do not argue with the officer. If you think you are being
unlawfully asked to move, the proper time to address that issue is
after the fact by filling an official complaint.
Carpools:
We are arranging carpools to make getting to the rally easier. If you
want to carpool or if you can offer a ride, please email me as soon
as possible so we can make arrangements!
