Bergi came right up to me and gave me kisses and let me hold her like a baby. It was love at first sight!

So life has been going well.
On this past Friday, Mommy had a surprise Birthday party for Daddy. I had a great time. There were a ton of people to play with. Mommy gave me a bully stick to chew on when everyone was outside! And, Uncle Titmas took me out for a couple of walks – I finally went number 2 by the third walk…
Mommy is till on crutches so we have been pretty low key during the day. Most of time we both hang out on the couch, but I ring the bell to let Mommy know when I need to go outside. She is so proud of me. Though there are times I will ring the bell just to go outside and hang out!
Mommy was a bit concerned that we were going to get in trouble when I went bathroom outside – since I am supposed to go both number 1 and 2 in the dog walk section of the townhouses. Though Daddy said if anyone gives me or Mommy a problem he will talk with them – since Mommy is still on crutches and in that big knee brace.
Mommy just told me that I am going to be staying with Grandma and Grandpa for the next couple of days. Mommy and Daddy have a wedding in Buffalo and that is a long drive from New Jersey – so they feel it will be better for me to stay with my Grandparents! Honestly I am excited; every time I see Grandpa he gives me a bone. Yes, he walks around with dog bones in his pocket. Grandpa has been nicknamed “The Dog Whisperer,” he has always had a dog in his life…
Which also means I will be hanging with my doggies Grandma Sheeva. Sheeva and I did not have the greatest start.. I was wanting to play with her – Sheeva is 13 years old – and she was not interested in playing with me during my last visit. At one point Sheeva nipped me – Mommy said sometimes little puppies need to learn the hard way. I guess that is what happened because I now know that I cannot torment Sheeva too much.
Well, wish me luck on my ride… I need to make sure Mommy packs my bone and Mr. Octopus for the trip!

SO Mommy has been so proud of me for the past week. She had knee surgery on June 21st and I have been such a good puppy. Normally I go to the bathroom – just number 1 – around 11:45… We then hang out for the rest of the day (I normally sleep) until around 3 or 4, Mommy and I then go outside for a bit. She puts me on my leash with the stake in the ground and Mommy sits on a lounge chair. If I have been good for the day Mommy give me a bully stick to chew on and we hang out for 30 minutes to an hour outside. If I have to I will go to the bathroom in the mulch…. which Mommy and Daddy do not mind, they are just happy I am going outside and being so good since Mommy is still on crutches.
I do not mind that Mommy is on crutches and since I am a little one... only 17 pounds it has been easy for Mommy to handle me on one leg!
Well, Mommy hopes I keep up the good work since she is going to be on crutches until August 4th... the day before I will be going to Grandma and Grandpa’s up in Northern NJ. They are going to watch me while Mommy and Daddy go to a wedding. Mommy is going to wear a pretty dress... she tried it on today and I tried to jump on it… I was just so excited to see Mommy looking so pretty!
Well, keep your paws crossed I keep up the good work on being a good puppy for Mommy over the next four weeks!

Well, let’s see… it has been a crazy couple of weeks.
After I was spayed Mommy needed to get knee surgery. This meant Mommy, Daddy and I packed up all of our stuff and headed to Grandma and Grandpa’s house – the knee doctor is in Northern NJ near Mommy’s parent’s house.
Mommy and I were there for 10 days. I had a great time. I eventually made friends with Grandma and Grandpa’s dog Sheeva. She is 14 years old and does not want to play that much. So ever times I go around her I roll onto my back. She does not even seem to notice when I do this. I am not sure if she really likes me.. so by the end of our visit I learned to leave her alone!
I love my Grandpa. He took me for walks… even though I was naughty and bit the leash during out walks. He played with me in the backyard. He told me I was the fastest puppy he has ever seen! He even gave me a few bones. I learned that if I was a good girl he would give me a bone. Grandpa even carried the bones in his pocket!
I think I warmed up a little more to Grandma… she was not so happy with me when I had a few accidents in the house or when I would jump on her lap. She did not understand I was just trying to love her.
I also had a great time with my Aunt Caren and my cousin (human) Joseph… Joseph spent a lot of time playing with me... though Mommy was worried that we were playing too ruff!
As of now Mommy, Daddy and I are back in our house. I made it home without throwing up… which is a big step for me. Mommy thinks the ginger treats help settle my stomach. Daddy thinks I did not throw up because I was so tired from having fun at Grandma and Grandpa’s.
Well hopefully I will be good for this next week. Mommy is going to be on crutches for a while – she hopes on July 9th she will be in a different brace and a bit more mobile.
Well, it is time to eat now. Daddy is making me my meal!
