Arrival Story:
Blue actually has an interesting story...He is originally from Iraq and was rescued as a puppy. He was born in a feral dog pack and was adopted by a 101st Airborne army pilot who was killed in a Blackhawk helicopter crash. Blue was kept by that unit until they were told they couldn't keep him and they gave him to the 50th Med. Unit in Baghdad, turns out they weren't allow to keep dogs either...so once again Blue was passed around. This time he was given to american civilian contractors which my boyfriend happened to be. Brad kept Blue for about 7 months and got relocated to Taji where he wasn't allowed to have a dog so in order to get him home to the States, Brad had to smuggle him on a Blackhawk helicopter with the help of the good pilots of the 45th Med. Unit to Kuwait. From there they went to the International Vet Hospital so Blue could get updated on all his shots before getting shipped home to the United States. Blue has been in the states now for about 3 years now and loves it.
