Leave a bone for Cypress (In Loving Memory)

Nicknames: Cypie, Crazy Grammies, Sunshine, Ole Girl, Chomper

Quick Bio:
Likes: Milkbones and looking pitiful to get her treats

Pet-Peeves: The cats

Favorite Toy: Big bone, Headless Tigger body, Tigger's head, Ballz

Favorite Food: Potato Chips - Salt & Vinegar made her drool!

Favorite Walk: By the creek; Long walks with Mom & Grandma

Best Tricks: Fetching the ball, and not giving it back - NO sharing allowed!

Arrival Story: Cypress came to our family in 1993 when she was an all-black (no grey) little girl. After moving out from my parents' house, Cypress stayed behind so that my parents still had a child to take care of. Finally, after 11 years of being the baby of the house, she came back to live with me and become more spoiled than ever. Of course she had trouble adjusting to the cats, but over time they learned to tolerate each other. Cypress was loved more than anything, and she has been greatly missed. I only wish we had more time living with her - she was my Sunshine!

Cypress unexpectedly passed away yesterday, November 1st. She was the best and most loving dog that I have ever come across. I don't think a day passed that I didn't say, "Who has the cutest face? I don't know what I would do without my Cypie." She will truly be missed... I love you, girl!!!!!
I would also like to take this opportunity to notify all of you dog lovers of the risk of the anti-inflammatory medicine, RIMADYL. Please do NOT give your doggies this medication without first researching and being aware of the negative side effects. Please go to http://www.srdogs.com/Pages/rimadylfr.html. Cypress was a happy, healthy, and exuberant dog who did not show any physical signs of aging. Last week (Oct 25) I took her into the vet because of a limp, which the vet prescribed Rimadyl, promising that Cypress would feel better. On Day 6 we woke to Cypress vomiting and laying lifeless on the ground. The emergency vet told me to immediately stop the drug and wait until the vet opened on Monday. Monday morning we took her in, only to find that we were too late and Cypress should be laid to rest. It was the most devasting experience I have ever gone through, and I do not want any other pet parent to go thru this without being aware of the negative side effects to this supposed good drug.

I just want to be friends with the 3 cats who live with me. Every time I try to say "hello" and sniff their backside (only to get accustomed), I get smacked! Simba jabbed me in the face yesterday, and my dad had to wipe up the blood. Mean cats, why do I get blamed for trying to be friendly? Mom & Dad say it's because I'm too hyper - whatever!! All 3 of em gang up on me, I'm not even allowed to go upstairs - they all run at me and growl, I thought only dogs were supposed to growl?
