Arrival Story: We lost our older dog Yoda to cushings in March 2007. We didn't plan right out to get another dog but soon we all realized how empty the house seemed without having Yoda in it. We were in love with Australian Cattle dogs after all the years we had our Yoda with us and when we were ready for a new dog we knew it had to be an acd.
Chingu was adopted from the Humane Society April 14, 2007. My mom had said she was ready for a new cattle dog after seeing one advertised in the Humane Society's pet of the week ad in the paper. I called the Humane society since I work nearby it on April 11th to find out about the pet of the week but that particular cattle dog (2 year old girl) had been adopted already. I asked about other cattle dogs and they had a 6 year old, 7 year old and a 10 month old. I went that day on my lunch break to check the dogs out. When I saw the 10 month old I knew he was meant to be our dog. I called my mom on my cell phone and told her about him. She was going out of town that night but she made it over to the humane society to meet the dog and begin the adoption process that night. By the time I arrived home from work my mom had named him Chingu which is the Korean word for friend.
He came home on April 14th 2007 and was extremely happy to come home with my parents, my sister and I.
Bio: Chingu came to our family after the death of Yoda. Another cattle dog just felt right when we decided we were ready for a new dog.
