Bio:
We were lucky enough to have had sheaba in our lives for 14 years, she was the best dog i could ever had imagined to have had while growing up, she was there through it all and was always there for me, i dont even know what sheabas bark sounded like because she was the calmest most placid dog that walked the earth, at the age of about 13 sheaba had a mild stroke and thereafter would have attacks every now and then, each attack was so painful to watch, she would get very out of breath and you could see it upset her, this is one thing i could say for anyone who loses there dog quickly in an accident, that they don't have to go through watching them go through something like that. we always said as long as her tail is wagging an she is mostly happy we would not put her to sleep. finally one weekend (the first in a very long time that all of us were at home together) sheaba had one of her attacks and as we rushed to the vet in the middle of the night we all knew that this was it. it was the hardest thing in my life to stand there as she was pts. i held her paw and told her she was the best dog ever. i hope she is happy now in rainbow bridge.

I Stood By Your Bed Last Night

I first saw this poem on Angel Jerry's page (609874) and it brought back so many memories of Sheaba that I wanted to post it here so that I can see it every time I open her Dosgter page.

--------------------------------------------------- ----------------------------------

I stood by your bed last night, I came to have a peep.
I could see that you were crying, You found it hard to sleep.

I whined to you softly as you brushed away a tear,
"It's me, I haven't left you, I'm well, I'm fine, I'm here."

I was close to you at breakfast, I watched you pour the tea,
You were thinking of the many times your hands reached out to me.

I was with you at the shops today, Your arms were getting sore.
I longed to take your parcels, I wish I could do more.

I was with you at my grave today, You tend it with such care.
I want to reassure you that I'm not lying there.

I walked with you towards the house, as you fumbled for your key.
I gently put my paw on you, I smiled and said "it's me."

You looked so very tired, and sank into a chair.
I tried so hard to let you know that I was standing there.

It's possible for me to be so near you everyday.
To say to you with certainty, "I never went away."

You sat there very quietly, then smiled, I think you knew ...
In the stillness of that evening, I was very close to you.

The day is almost over... I smile and watch you yawning
and say "goodnight, God bless, I'll see you in the morning."

And when the time is right for you to cross the brief divide,
I'll rush across to greet you and we'll stand, side by side.

I have so many things to show you, there is so much for you to see.
Be patient, live your journey out ... then come home to be with me.

I would like to thank Angel Jerry (609874) for my angel picture, it is very much appreciated.

We love Sheaba's angel picture. I put it on her page straight away and also have it on my desktop in work. Thanks also for the star and rosette.

A big thank you, thank you, thank you also from Sheaba, I just know she’s wagging her tail every time someone thinks of her.
