My obedience class

I'm taking my human parents to obedience class to get them talking "dog talk". It's working out pretty well so far. Dad was a little under the weather so we didn't quite communicate as well as usual. Mom and I really clicked though. We played musical chairs and we won! Both Mom and I had to be sitting at the same time. If I got up, she had to give up her seat. We worked well together and I sat when she asked me to. I was also very good at "leave it" and at meeting other dogs.

Only three more classes to go then we will try for our canine good citizen.

Class is in Session

I'm the star student in my obedience class. Mom and Dad thought I would be the idiot child in the class but I fooled everyone. I'm very smart. Now that Mom and Dad see just how smart I am they are talking about keeping me in class all the time to give me something to do. After this class we might do agility classes. That will be fun because I like to run and jump.

I'm growing up

I'm growing up but my humans say I'm not growing fast enough. I'm now a 50 pound puppy. I still act like a puppy. I harass the older dogs, bark a lot, steal Petey's toys, and in general make a pest of myself.

I am starting to behave though. I understand that the trashcan is not my personal buffet. That doesn't keep me from raiding the trashcan from time to time, but I do know I'm not supposed to do it.

I understand that counter-surfing is not acceptable but that doesn't mean if no one is looking that I can't help myself to whatever is on the counter. It's only bad if they can catch me in the act.

Sometimes Petey picks on me. I steal his toys to make him chase me or I bark at him and eventually he jumps me. I think he's mad because I exist. He's just an old grouch.

Mom and Dad call me bad names but I think it's because they really like me but don't want anyone to know.

But I am getting better. I don't destroy things any more. Unless you count digging a million holes in the yard...
