From what we know this is Bear's history:
His first family was not a very good experience. As a puppy they trained him to "bite butts" of their children. This may have been cute when he was 5 months old and a little puppy, but it's scary when he is 80 lbs. and looks like he could eat a small child! They told the rescue to come get him or they were going to "shoot him". The first house he was fostered in had very aggressive dogs who would attack him when he tried to eat. Somewhere along the lines, he was abused by a man, so he was very scared of men when we first got him. This dog has had such a tough life and is such a gentle soul that truthfully we are amazed everyday at the amount of love he gives us!
