Arrival Story:
My boyfriend and I both love animals, especially dogs, but couldn't have one of our own while we lived with our parents. When we moved in together in 2005, we refused to live anywhere that wasn't pet friendly, and couldn't wait to finally have a dog. Originally we had wanted to get a puppy, but then decided to look into rescue/adoption of an adult dog. We also both wanted a golden. After a month of searching, I saw Maggie on Petfinder and immediately applied to adopt her. She was at a shelter in Glouchester County, New Jersey, about an hour away from where I live. When the shelter called and told me I could adopt her, it was one of the best days of my life! I was so excited when I went to pick her up. She was a little nervous at first, but when I walker her over to my car, she jumped right in, as if she knew that she was going to her forever home! I adopted Maggie into her forever family on October 3, 2005. Every day since has been a joy. She is loved by everyone in our families, which is only natural, because she is the cutest, sweetest girl in the whole wide world!
