Likes: Meteor loves going places with me including UFT meetings and out to restaurants.
Pet-Peeves: Deer. See August 4th diary entry for details.
Favorite Toy: He loves his squeeky bone and his cloth lobster right now.
Favorite Food: Baby carrots are his favorite treat. And he thought he might like radishes.
Favorite Walk: He loves to run on the bay beach in Fire Island. He walked himself there twice already (bad dog)
Best Tricks: He is learning to walk on his back legs. What a circus pup!
Arrival Story: I was supposed to be couriering (is that a word?) him from Nashville to NYC for a friend of mine as surprise for her daughter. The surprise was that her daughter's boyfriend showed up the same day with another puppy, and he got there first. That was ok by me, I was in love with Meteor and would have been heartbroken to give him up.
Bio: The breeders are good friends of mine in KY. I'm hoping to bring the whole next litter to NY so that Meteor can be friends with his brothers and sisters!
OMD! I cannot believe that Mamma let it go over a year since she wrote in my diary. She's been writing in FiFiGiGi's diary for the past 3 days and just thought to check when she wrote for me last. This is what happens when you're not the only dog anymore!
My little sister, FiFiGiGi thinks she knows about Fashion and about writing blogs and about being the coolest, so they are "blogging" for her. I think that's nice if you want to hear about dresses and parties and winning contests and stuff. But I'd rather write about real things like going to the park!
Today we went to Tompkin's Square, our usual dog run. We went with our friend Louis, he's a brown Toy Poodle and his mom Monica. It was kinda cold and damp, but I was in a running mood. I like to run. A new dog came in and I just started running zoomies around him. Mamma was laughing and laughing. She likes when I have the zoomies. FiFiGiGi wasn't in the mood. She kept jumping up into Mamma's arms and trying to snuggle into her coat. Louis was refereeing a couple of King Charles Cavalier puppies who were wrestling and running. Louis didn't think they were doing it right at all.
I'll try to make sure that Mamma updates MY diary at least once a week, if she's going to do FiGi's every woofing day!
So, today is my birthday. Mamma and my Danny have been talking and talking about it, so I guess it's some big deal. Who would have thought that turning two would be so huge? We're not having a party today, cause it's a school night, but on Saturday we're having a big blast at my Danny's workshop, with a bunch of dogs and a bunch of people and a cake and a doggie meatloaf. Mamma and my Danny want to raise money for a charity called the Rabies Challenge Fund, so they're having the party for people to come and give money. That will help pay for research so that we don't have to get as many rabies shots in our lifetime and I for one don't like shots, so I'm all for less! The dogs don't have to pay, they just have to come and eat treats and play with FiFiGiGi and me. We have a blue tunnel to run through and my Danny might even put up a hurdle or two. AND did I tell you that the cake is for people and pups? My mamma thinks of everything.
Tonight I get a Cornish Game Hen for my birthday dinner. I'm so excited. I never had one before, but my Danny says they're yummy.
Thanks for checking in on me on my birthday,
Well, they did it. They got me a sister. I'm so excited, she's the best toy I ever got! Her name is FiFiGiGi and they call her Figi. Well, my Danny calls her Peach, but I call her tons of fun. I wasn't too sure about her at first, I was just a little worried that she would be an attention hog, but she's cool and she loves me and she loves my Danny and she's not too crazy about Mamma, so it's all good. She plays with toys and she knows how to roll a ball already and she's only 8 weeks old. By the time she's grown she's going to be the coolest playmate ever!
If I had known having a sister would be so fun I might have done it sooner. But of course, Figi wasn't born until now, so we couldn't have.
BTW, she's my real sister from my real parents, Romeo and Juliette in KY. Mamma flew down there to get her, just like she did when I was 7 weeks old too.
I can't wait until summer so she and I can play on the beach. That will be the greatest!
