Birthday: March 1st 2003 Likes: Rayne loves to go outside and bark at the horses across the street, LOL. Pet-Peeves: The horses across the street, other than that, not much. Favorite Toy: Rayne LOVES squeak toys, one of her favorites is an orange/yellow prickly squeak monster. Favorite Food: Whatever we're eating LOL, she's not picky, especially when she was pregnant, hence the nickname "Big Butt Rayne" during that time period :) Favorite Walk: She doesn't go for walks but we live out in the country (in the middle of apple orchards near Gettysburg, PA no less!) with about an acre and gets to play with our other dogs outside. Arrival Story: Rayne came to us as an adult. Her previous owners were a family who had a young boy, as well as three dogs: Rayne, her son, and a young female Saint Bernard. The child required special care from an in-home nurse, and unfortunately on top of that acquired allergies to the beloved family pets. The family first rehomed their Saint Bernard, thinking that may help, but in the end they needed to rehome Rayne and her son as well. We were lucky to get Rayne, We have children and she has been a perfect match for us! Bio: Because we got Rayne as an adult, she sometimes has her quirks (like barking at the horses across the street, lol), but she has worked out really well for us. She has a VERY affectionate, sweet temperament and is very loving. In a way, she is a lot like Lassie and LOVES to "talk" to us with woos, grunts, woofs and half-barks. Rayne is very large for a female German Shepherd Dog as she almost 28" at the shoulder and depending on the season sometimes over 100 pounds. She has a long coat and is known as a long haired German Shepherd. A LOT of people mistake her for a Shiloh Shepherd due to that and her large size. What we always tell people who ask is that her grandmother had the prefix "Shiloh" in her name and many of her relatives came from Shiloh kennels, so she is related to them and does have "Shiloh lines", but she is an AKC registered long coat German Shepherd Dog, NOT a Shiloh Shepherd. Rayne is the alpha female around here but is very tolerant of our other dogs even when she has puppies, although she can be a bit crabby while pregnant (like most gals, lol). To reiterate, we are NOT Shiloh Shepherd breeders nor King Shepherd breeders, merely large German Shepherd breeders of large German Shepherds such as Rayne. Forums Motto: I don't like horses, woof woof! The Groups I'm In: Calling all Shepherds!
