Summer is here and can you believe it's been a few months since my knee operation??? Wow time flies...well I was on strict "short leash" walks and supervised outdoor time, but that has all changed, I now am allowed off leash and can play in the backyard, however still supervised, they don't really let me get too riled up. But I have hit another obstacle....since I was not being as active as I usually am, my nails got really long, and one of them split down the middle. When they returned from L.A. they saw to it that it was trimmed properly, but by the time they got back from Cannes and the Monte Carlo Grand Prix my nail was infected, so back to the vet I went. They now have a 3 step treatment they have to do to my nail and surrounding area once a day, and it takes the both of them to do it, Dad has to pin me down cause it's very sore, but I like all the attention I have been getting, they won't leave me for a while now, so my evil plan has worked wha-haha! I also get to wear a booty to protect from the dirt and stuff which I'm not too keen on but I suppose it's necessary! 2 weeks of this treatment and then hopefully it will heal perfectly. As for my knee, it is sore some days, and I limp, and other days it's fine. Dad being such a sport/health nut has me on an exercise program that has me doing walking in intervals, and going to the lake, I actually don't know how to swim but I go into the water until it touches my belly. Dad however, is keen on teaching me to swim this summer, we'll see how he motivates me to do that! Thanks for all your well wishes and letters, from celebrating dad's big b-day to the jokes and funny videos, I enjoy them all, I hope you all are having a great start to the summer!!!!!
Leave A Comment | 12 people already have Hi Dino....well I'm not a dog...I'm a Guina Pig, and boy do I know about nails...my folks use to clip them at home, but it takes two of them and a lot of stress. Now they take me to the vet and get them trimmed...Keep up the good work and get well.
Sandybear..... Hey there Dino! Rupert here...might I suggest a nail grinder for the future; it is easier on you and whomever is trimming your nails. My vet uses one on me and I like it much better than a clipper. Hi Budino! My name is Anuk. Sorry to hear about your nail trouble. It happens when your family gets busy sometimes. BTW Rupert is right the nail grinders are much better than those clippers. I don't like anyone to touch my paws! I didn't mind the grinder, it did not hurt or scare me. Hey it is really good to hear that dad is looking after your nails for you. Sounds like he really cares about your health if he is going to get you swimming too. My dad made me a play yard and I love it. I have my soccer ball and other toys out there. I love to run and play with my human sisters. My family take me to the park where I get the chance to catch up with friends and I love going for long walks! My owner took me to the Vet and those nice folks fixed it up. I had an antibiotic tablet for a week. Mom gets so nervous to give me pills, so she sneaked it into my food. Yeah, I get so excited to eat that I clean out my bowl. This made Mom sigh with relief!
You get better soon and do the exercise! It will help you and your owner! I love running around my yard at this time of the year. Though I do love snow, I really love green grass. My owner gets at the end of our yard and then yells for me to come. I really run fast and pull my friend Abby with me.

Anyway, my name is Armen and my mom waits until I am snoring on the couch, sneaks the clippers out of her pocket and then clips till I wake up. Sometimes it takes two or three days to get all of them. She's pretty sneaky but I'm only 9 months old and still jumping on people ( I love attention too) so I need to keep my nails short.
