Likes:
Food, that's definitely her favorite! Snow, the words "mom-mom's home," and strangely enough, she LOVES her crate.. I guess it's like her comfort item

Pet-Peeves:
Loud noises, bath time, getting her nails trimmed, ears cleaned or teeth brushed, strangers (especially men), car rides, and babies.. they scare her!

Favorite Toy:
Plush football ball

Favorite Walk:
Down by the water, she loves the geese and sand

Best Tricks:
"Crawl," that's by far the cutest

Arrival Story:
It all started when I was just browsing through the internet. I wasn't even looking for another dog at the time. As soon as I saw her, it was love at first sight. I got in touch with the shelter - they told me about her case and I arranged to go visit her on the next adoption day. We anxiously drove two & a half hours to the shelter. Once we got there, we checked in and waited for one of the rescue workers to take us in the back to see the puppies. We spotted her right away, then pointed and said, "that's her!" He took her out and put her in a private room with us so we could get to know her better. As soon as he sat her down she just looked up at us and wagged her tail. I fell in love with those big brown eyes.. the rest is history

Bio:
Dixie fit in with us right away, she's been a pleasure to have around since day one. She is very calm, sweet and obedient. It's rare if you have to tell her to do something twice. She's flighty around strangers and a bit paronioed when it comes to loud noises, which makes her an excellent watchdog.. she doesn't miss a thing! I'm very attached to her, and I can't imagine my life without her now

Pampered Pooch

I have just returned from a long day at the groomer's salon; my favorite place to go (said in the most sarcastic voice I have). I got the FURminator deshedding package, along with my ears cleaned, nails trimmed, and teeth brushed. I must admit, I look and feel much better. But.. I could think of better ways to spend my day

Hurricane Irene

Hurricane Irene hit the east cost pretty hard this past weekend. We were out of water and electric for two days, but luckily, my family saw no major flooding or damage. I know many folks were not as fortunate as us. I work at a pet resort/boarding facility; seeing the heartbreak in each owner's eyes was devastating. Of course, they were in good hands with us, but I can't imagine the feeling of evacuating my property, and on top of that, not being able to take my babies with me! I'll continue to keep them in my thoughts and prayers, I hope the rest of you will do the same

Today, exactly four years ago, I adopted "the world's greatest dog." I feel as if I didn't rescue her, she somehow rescued me.

I love you dixie doodle! I can't wait to spend many more years with you
