Leave a bone for Dancer

Nicknames: Dancer Doggie, Just a Dog, Dance

Quick Bio:
 Birthday: January 11th 2002
Likes: Water, water, and more water, she loves sitting by the bathtub in the hopes she will be invited to join us in our bath, chasing balls, laying on daddys tummy at bedtime, giving kisses which are actually nibbles, tormenting the cat

Pet-Peeves: any other animal getting attention, mommy and daddy giving each other attention,

Favorite Toy: Anything squeeky, a ball she can chase and retrieve

Favorite Food: Pig ears, anything from the table, and cat food when she can sneak it in

Favorite Walk: Anywhere

Best Tricks: She doesnt really have any tricks, but she does have an odd habit or running in circles constantly and always counter clockwise..she is a great retreiver and loves to chase and bring back balls

Arrival Story: We got Dancer from a kennel the day we returned from our honeymoon! A friend knew my husband wanted a springer spaniel for hunting, and he knew a kennel owner who raised and trained hunting dogs for a living. and sold them for quite the pretty penny!! Unfortunately, Dancer had a habit of turning in circles, and I mean literally, all the time. Because there was an obvious defect, he was looking to give her away or put her down, so we took her. She was very very shy at first, afraid of everything, and had the habit [and still does] of peeing when she gets excited, is scared, is happy, you name it. We keep a bottle of spot shot on every floor of the house and have learned to make sure she is on the linoleum before giving her loves because she gets so excited she pees. Dancer is in constant motion........when she eats, she gets mouthful of food and runs around the table eating. If she needs out, she runs in circles 4 or 5 times before even starting down the stairs. She even swims in circles!! And again, always counter clockwise. It is the oddest habit I have ever seen of a dog. She was very shy of people, but over the years she has become very excited about people, and has to greet them at the door, and has a very friendly nature. Right now she is having a tough time because we recently lost her "sibling" on February 18 and she doesnt realize her sister isnt coming back. And since she is now the only dog in the house, she has become accustomed to all the attention, and is thriving. We havent decided if she has mellowed out more because of fhe extra attention being lavished on her or if it is depression over the loss of her sister, but she is feeling better day by day. She adores the water, and all you have to do is mention bath time and she is there.......but of course she also needs to be blow dried. She seems to be hot a lot, so we keep her shaved down very short, as she is most comfortable. Hubby is working with her on bird hunting and we believe she can be proficient. All in all she is a wonderful dog, although with some irritating habits we have had to become accustomed to. More pictures will be added later, but for now there is a picture of her, and her deceased sister that she misses horribly.

Bio: UPDATE Dancer now has a new friend to play with, a new little brother who keeps her hopping! The brothers name is Oreo, and although he [nor any other fur baby] cant replace Torre, he has certainly wiggled his way into everyones hearts.
