From a sitting position, she can spring straight up in the air over 6 feet, cats watch out if you are walking our fence.

Arrival Story:
We lost our family dog, Sadie of 14 years and were lonely for a dog. Wanted a smaller dog, so read in the paper about purebreed Boston's , with no papers, for sale. So went and looked at the puppies and picked our doggie. She was the only brindle one and calm. Then it took us a few days to name her. My grandson named her Tootsie finally(he was 2 years old at the time) because when she pooped, it looked like a Tootsie Roll, so Tootsie it was.

Tootsie was born on the 20th of May 1992 and is 15 1/2 years old. She is a sweet dog;easily trainned. Showed her once and she knew it and graduated from Dog school at the top of her class. Never really had to work with her, very well mannered. House broken in just a week after we got her and never runs off. She sticks to the house like glue. Loves everyone that comes through that front door. Loves to sleep with anyone at night. She will be right up next to you. She also can sleep under the covers allllllllllllll the way down to the foot of the bed. She will do this all night and manages to breathe. Weirdest thing. The BEST watch dog ever, hears the slightest noise. She knows when a cat is in the yard. Zooms out the door like lightning. She also knows who is coming up the walk to the our place and starts low gutteral noises and dances till the frontdoor opens. She can hear my husband one block away coming home from a ride on his Harley too. Loves the grandkids!!!

Tootsie was getting around with some pain and frustration. She was almost deaf, hard time walking; her backend was partially numb and fell down a lot. She had little accidents in the house, but we didn't care. She was getting very upset when it happened. That's why we have hardwood floors!!! She was easy as a puppy, only messed in the house once and never after that. She still went outside through the
doggie door, just was too old to get out there in time. She always waited up for me every night when I came home from work till the end of her life. Wouldn't go to bed till we were all in bed ourselves. She was the sweetest, loving dog, never bite anyone. She loved the kids, her treats and still had a good appetite. It was just painful to see her rally everyday and trying not show us her pain. But she was in pain and the night before we had to say good-bye, she was just so confused and upset and whinning. That was not her. So had to make the decision. She was sweet till the end. I was grateful to have her all these years. Brought her home and buried her in the backyard. So she is always home with us. Truffle and Panda are filling the void. Tootsie was a good teacher, she showed them how to go outside and how to be loving with the kids, got a lot of grandkids to play with. Truffle is 1 1/2 yrs now and Panda is 7 months old. Hope we have these two, just as long.

Tootsie was born May 20th, 1993 she is now 16 * years. Still a good dog, playful , but slowing down a little. She doesn't bark when someone comes to the door. She still gets all happy when the grandkids come over .....that means a lot of extra treats!!! She still makes this gurgling noise and dances all around when Dad comes home. She doesn't hear as good as she used to, but always knows when he is coming home. She is going to get a new puppy to add to the house, a white dachsund whose name is Truffle and is only 5 weeks old now. She will come and live with us when she is 9 weeks old. I sure hope Tootsie will enjoy having this liitle one. We hope Tootsie will train her well.

Tootsie is now gone, but not forgotten, had to take her to the vet today Nov. 22, 2008. She was 16 1/2 years old. She was a loyal, sweet, loving Pet. We buried her in our backyard in her favorite place, next to the fence, where she used to wait quietly and still waiting for a squirrel or a cat to run along the fence. Then she would spring straight up and scare the Sh....... out of them. It was funny to watch. She was buried in her favorite cat bed and a her blanket. It was sad to do today, but necessary. She was not doing well, and it was hard for her to rally up with us and the kids. She was loved by our family and it will be hard without her. She will be missed. She is survived by Truffle who is now 1 years old ( a white dachsund )and Panda, who is 6 months old, ( a Chihuahua) two grown ups and 8 grandkids.
