Arrival Story:
Andy came directly from a breeder. He is a Yorktese. His mom was a Maltese and dad was a Yorkie. He was the last puppy in his litter to find a home. Maybe because he looked more like a Maltese than a Yorkie and one ear stood up and one flopped down. He must've been waiting for to take him home. He got lighter in color as time marched on. Everyone thinks that Andy is gorgeous. He was 9 weeks old and weighed 1.74 lbs. on the vet's scale the day that he came to home to join his new family. Now he weighs a whopping 5 lbs.

Andy loves to walk and will walk for miles and especially enjoys walking off leash. He gets cold easily and shivers like crazy if it's damp and cold. In the winter, Andy likes to snuggle in his doggie carrier that I got at the Harvest festival. Andy likes to watch Katie and Riley walk in their fleece jackets. He kicks back and enjoys the scenery. Andy hardly ever barks and has always been this way. Some people have commented that he sounds like a baby when he complains. Andy points to the treat jar and the greenie container with his snout and looks at me to see if I understand him. Andy likes to sleeps curled up under my arm. The last photo of Andy is beginning our Los Gatos walk before Katie or Riley joined the family. He is the speck between the two far-right yellow posts.

I have just recently decided that I like my mommy to chase me when she gets home at night. Mom thinks I'm soooo cute. After we've all said hello, had some treats and are settled in is when it's playtime. I invite mom with a play stance and then turn to run. She chases me around the living room furniture and then the dining room set in a crazy eight pattern. I look so happy running along with my little 5 lb. self, ears flopping in my dog made breeze! Mom says I'm her little cuppy cake.

I've been such a good puppy. My mom cured me of my bossy attitude very quickly. I've been an angel. Mommie thinks that I must still believe in Santa Claus. Happy holidays one and all!

My mommie is concerned because last night, I tried to hump her for the first ever. Mommie made me move away and she'll be ready if I ever try this again. Another new trick of mine is to stand at the bottom of the stairs and cry for mom to come down and carry me upstairs. The stairs are porcelain tile but I've been walking upstairs by myself until recently. Mom let me cry for a little while and then she went to get me so that I wouldn't bother the neighbors. She held her hands around my body and made me walk up on my own steam.

Mom thinks that maybe I started to do these dominance things is because she stopped taking me for rides in the baby carrier. I have to walk now unless we're in the park where she saw a coyote last weekend. This morning, I tried to go out the door before everyone else! I still walk very far behind on our walks though.
