Lad's favorite things are butt rubs, walks on the beach, car rides, dog shows and cuddling!
Lad hates strangers coming into his yard and motorcycles.
His woobie and his bankie. (His stuffed sheep and his blanket, which has sheep on it.)
His favorite food is french fries.
Lad loves to walk down to the beach and explore.
Laddie can "save Timmy from the well," bow and crawl. He also likes to weave through our legs!
My sister gave Lad to us, so that my daughter can show him. He is almost a champion.
Lad was a sable and white, smooth collie. His birthday is April 15th. He was sometimes goofy, sometimes protective - but always sweet to us. He believed it was his job to bark at anyone riding a bike, or running, or walking....basically, anyone going by our house. But he was the best at cuddling, so we didn't mind his one bad habit.
We lost Lad on 9/16/11, after a year long battle with cancer. We will never get over his loss.
until we meet again...

I just celebrated my 6th birthday last month. We had a party with presents, cookies and Frosty Paws! Good times!
I earned my HIT certification/title this past fall. I love chasing the sheep, even though I have my certificate, I hope I can go again!
We have a new collie in the house, she moved in in February. Her name is Holly and she is a lot of fun and likes to play chase. She thinks she is the boss of the house though. I'm a good boy, so I let her think it, but I know the truth!

I took a herding instinct test on October 25th. I passed the test and got my "first leg." (Which sounds funny to me, I already have four legs!) Mom says I need to pass the test twice to get a herding instinct title after my name, HIC.
There is a video of my test on you tube if you want to see me in action! Just search for Ladd Herding Instinct Test. My sister Abby took the test and passed too - her video is called Abby Herding.

My mom and my girl went away on vacation for a week. I had to go stay with my Aunt Karen and her collies. It was fun playing with all the collies. I got to hang out with my brother Chase. I got to visit with my collie mother, Brooke. I got to catch up on things with my grandmother Angel and my great-grandmother Mariah. I even got to play with my cousins, Penny and CC.
Everything was going well, accept that I was a bit homesick, when disaster struck. My brother Chase and I got into a fight. I can't remember who started it, but I ended up at the animal hospital. I had to get three stitches in my leg! Karen and Kathy took really good care of me though. They even let me sleep in their room. (I really wanted my mom, when you are sick or hurt your mom should be there...)
So I had to take medicine three times a day while my boo-boos healed. I had to eat before I had the medicine, which was really cool. I loved getting fed three times a day! It made me feel like a puppy again!
After I finished my medicine mom said I can still get three meals a day because I am so skinny! Boy am I happy! This morning mom was late for work so I ran and got my bowl. She was about to leave and I knew she forgot about giving me my breakfast! I stood in front of her and held out my bowl, to remind her I wanted my breakfast. She laughed and laughed and gave me a hug. She said I was the smartest collie in the world! (I am just happy I got my kibble!)
