Laura's story: It was the summer before I started vet school, and I thought that I needed a big dog to keep my company during the late night cram sessions. It was also at a time when the area that I lived in had a serial killer on the loose (seriously!). So I started to hunt for a big dog for protection. I came across an ad in the paper for a boxer-lab mix. What a great combination. My mom and sisters pick her up for me and they kept her for a week while I finished my undergrad finals. Well, I fell in love with my" little girl" right away! However, she is NO guard-dog!! She is very protective of me and her surroundings, but after she is done barking she will lick you to death!!
She has helped through some really hard time - and is my best friend! I don't know if I would have gotten through vet school without her. My first year was very hard and full of drama, but no matter how tired, upset, or cranky I was when I came homeI had this beautiful little girl waging her tail ready to love me unconditionally!!
