Likes:
Giving kisses, belly rubs, naps, cuddling, big dogs, car trips, protecting the house from intruders

Pet-Peeves:
Her dogbrother pulling her off the couch (by her ears), being left behind, strange people who come too close to mom, her dogbrother and sister trying to take attention away from her. Not being able to jump up on furniture.

Favorite Toy:
Doesn't really like to play with toys. Enjoys pulling stuffing out of her dogbrother's stuffed toys.

Favorite Food:
Home made nutritial food with hamburg, chicken, veggies and rice. Liver treats. Licking the plate

Favorite Walk:
Around the neighborhood. Romping in the park. Point Isabel and Point Pinole - but now in her dog stroller.

Best Tricks:
Sit, roll over, stay, dancing on hind legs. Now with her wheels, it's going fast down hills, doing wheelies off curbs, jumping up curbs.

Arrival Story:
My friend and Fleur's breeder was going out of the country for three weeks. Fleur was the only one of the litter who did not have a new home and my friend asked me if I would dogsit. I had been socializing with Fleur and her brothers since they were born, and even though I was looking for a second dog, I really wasn't interested in Fleur. I had my heart set on another Tibetan Terrier. But I was happy to dogsit. My friend's plan worked famously. After three weeks, Fleur came to fit perfectly in our home and in my heart. Of course, Fleur never went back to her breeder. She had found a new home.

Bio:
When Fleur came to live with me, my Tibetan Terrier, Maggie, was 11 and had been in ill health. I thought for sure I was going to lose her, and so in a way, Fleur was to transition me through that loss. But instead, little puppy, Fleur, got right in Maggie's face and bugged her 24/7. What could Maggie do but get up and moving and reclaim her territory and alpha rights. Maggie got her spirit and spunk back and lived another 4 years. I really do believe that it was Fleur who gave her a new lease on life. In July 2007, Fleur was diagnosed with disc disease. We tried a holistic approach with no success, so in Aug. she underwent a very difficult spinal surgery. She had two herniated discs that had calcified and attached to her spine. The neuro surgeon at UC Davis tried for hours, but the best she could do was scrape a little of one disc and cut two sunroofs in Fleur's vertabrae so the spine had some room to move. Fleur is a miricle; she is able to walk (although still like a "drunken sailor") and with the help of PT and hydro-theraphy she continues to improve after 5 months. The surgeon says she may improve more within the 1st year, but even if she doesn't, she is able to get around, play and enjoy life. She loves talking long walks in her special stroller. Fleur looks beautiful and is happy and pain free.
