Arrival Story:
My husband (boyfriend at the time) and I were looking for a dog to get and he really wanted a pit bull. Ok, well, I was NOT ok with the fact of getting a pit bull, b/c like everyone else, I believed everything the news said to be true. WRONG! After reluctantly agreeing to get one, we found an add in the paper. We had to meet the person who had the puppies and follow him to his house. (Let me just say, that when I was following him, I almost decided to turn back.....he lived in the GHETTO! Literally the ghetto!) My husband really wanted this dog so I continued on.....when we finally got to this shanti, I saw a dog chained up next to the house....it was the father. Like I said, I was terrified of pit bulls, that all changed though....As soon as I walked near the father of the puppies, he started wining....he wanted to play with me. I walked a little closer and he jumped on me and licked my face. I was in love. We finally made our way back to the puppies. I became horrified by the sight of their living conditions! Twelve puppies were crammed in a tiny cardboard box!! I knew immediately that I wanted to take all of them, but I couldn't afford that, so we picked one, Shady. He was a poor sight, this is how he got his name. On our 30 minute drive back , the puppy started shaking, all his ribs were showing, and I didn't know if he would make it through the nite. The next day, we found the problem, he had a horrible case of worms. We rushed him to the Vet and he stayed over night. It was a shady whether or not he would live....hence his name. He is very healthy now and SPOILED!!!! I love him with all my heart and he is definitely a Mommas boy!
