Arrival Story:
I received a posting over a rescue group that I am in of a small pound that was overrun and many dogs were to be PTS that Friday. Nick (who they called Shyguy) caught my eye, partly because of his looks and partly because of his description--scared of everything. I had gone to the capitol to show support for an anmal cruelty bill before the legislature and on the way home, my truck just sort of steered its way to the little town where Nick was. I took him and he was absolutely terrifed of me and all people--he had obviously been beaten! It took 3 or 4 days of lots of love to get him to trust us. I even took him to school where I am a counselor and some kids helped me pet him and sang to him. Finally he started wagging his tail and following us around, and now he doesn't want us out of his sight. He is a real treaure--however, since we have 5 others, we would love to find him a wonderful, permanent loving forever home. I promise he would love you forever.
Bio:
We named him Nick because we rescued him on Wednesday before he was to be PTS Friday--just in the "Nick" of time.

Guess what, everyone! I have a new FOREVER home with Jerry in Nashville, Tennessee! Jerry says he picked me out from thousands of dogs on the internet and he drove from his home all the way to my foster home in Arkansas to meet me. He fell in love with me, and after he talked a long time with my foster mom and dad Linda and Jeff, he took me for a walk. I was a littel nervous, but I liked him. Early the next morning Jeff took me for a walk which was unusual for that early. Soon Jerry came back to see me and put my bed and toys in his car. Jeff and Linda petted me and loved on me and talked to me and then started to cry. Then they put me in Jerry's car and away we went. We drove for a long time, but stopped a lot to get out. I even slept some. Now we are at Jerry's house and although I am a little scared about what is happening and I miss my home some in Arkansas, I think that I am really going to like Jerry and his home. He sure does love me!! That's all for now!!! Nick
