My husband and I were looking for a dog because we just moved into a house with a big yard, we were at the SPCA in Berkeley looking at different dog and when I walked by his Max's cage, I made the comment that he is a cute dog, the staff then said "oh, he is and he one of our favorites and he has been here for 6 mos. we wish somebody would take him", I looked down at him and he was looking at me with those soft brown eyes and somehow seemed to be smiling....there it is there.
