Possibly RAW!!

Mom's really thinking of switching me to RAW this summer!! She would switch me now, but with school and tennis, she wouldn't have enough time to get me started and get in the 'groove' of things. I can't wait though!! I'm sure I'll love it! She was thinking of BARF, but now she's leaning more towards prey model RAW... Which ever bring on the meat!!:)

Second trial=AMAZING!

Magnum was awesome at his second trial EVER! We ran in Novice Tunnelers and Jumpers.

In Tunnelers he had a time of 37.76, standard course time being 38.75(barely made it! BOL) with 4.10 YPS. Which was amazing! He would have had a better time, but he was so fast I couldn't give directions fast enough!! So my fault Mag! Not only did we Q, but got 3rd place too!!

In Jumpers his time was 21.94, the standard course time being 30.67 with 5.24 YPS. Again amazing!! So we Q'd, and got 2nd place!!

I'm just sooo happy we Q'd and then to place in only his second trial. I can't wait for the next NADAC!

Magnum's Mom here:

Well, Mag didn't Q, but for his first ever trial I think he did GREAT! I was worried I wouldn't get him to foucs at all or that he might use the bathroom on course, but he didn't do either. We ran in Novice JWW and we were the last ones. So we got there at 7:30 but didn't run until about 2:00. I figured Mag would be reactive and wouldn't calm down and he'd be a nervous wreck and wouldn't be able to run the course, but he slept in his crate half the time! When it came our turn, I realized that we don't have wings on our jumps at home and I was like "oh, snap..". So he balked at the first jump because he'd never seen time sensors, then refused the second jump(i should've just went on but I asked him to jump it three times, then went on..my mistake.) Then he went over 4,5,6,and7 jumps, then the tunnel was 8. He balked at it to sniff it then decided he would take it. Then 9 was weave poles he ran past those and it took three tries for that but he was able to complete them. Then 10, 11,12 jumps he did good(here the time buzzer went off meaning we went over course time) and he went through the 13 tunnel. Then 14, 15, and 16 jumps he went over perfectly. I was sooo proud of him! He actuallly did the course, I was firguring he wouldn't, but he did! I just knew when the first dog, peed on the ground on course that he'd do the same, but nope. I can't wait until his next trial because now I know what we need to work on. I'm just soooo proud of him!!

First Agility Trial! (do over)

Well, I was entered in an agility show this past May, but it got cancelled because they got overbooked, by the show site. So now I'm entered in a show in mid-August. Me and Mom can't wait!!! Mom says I have to work on my focusing, but she says I'm doing great in training. I now know my left from right, and Mom can do rear crosses without me turning around to look at her. I'm doing better with focusing too, I was running to Sport(who I love to chase), and Mom called me, and I turned right around, ignored Sport, and ran to her full speed! She was sooo proud of me, so I got to play frisbie!! We've been doing the "Control Unleashed" program. It's got alot of games to play that help me to learn to focus. I can't wait till the show, and I'm gonna do my best to make my Mom proud!!!

Today was fun

Only 8 more days until my first agility trial! I'm sooo excited! Mom's been trying to work with me alot so I'll be ready. She says she's gonna try to take me everywhere possible so I can get used to stuff. Well it's gettin late, gotta get my beauty rest! Bye!

Training Update!

Magnum's training is coming along. I got him a head collar because I've let heeling slack, my fault I know, and he's become sort of a puller. So I found a head collar on clearance a walmart for 1.50! So now out comes the clicker and head collar! I put the head collar on today and just walked around, occasionally giving treats, and he fought some,but not alot. I hope all continues to go well, and he does good at the show. Well, bye! ~Magnum's Mom

Magnum's first agility trial!

I just entered Magnum in his first agility trial! It's in May so we have about a month to get ready. He knows the equipment(I entered in one JWW course)m, but he has some troubles focusing. So I'm gonna teach him all the games in the Control Unleashed book and in Clean Run's: Focus, Motivation, and Control issue. He seems to love these games and learns alot from them. I'm gonna take him to my grandparents to work with him around their puppy, Cash. I think he'll do well in the show.

Davis Cup tennis!

Mom has left me so I'm all alone. She went to watch the USA play Switzerland in the Davis Cup! She was really excited, maybe she'll tell me about it. I've been keeping up with it online, and the US is in the lead right now. I hope they win! Well gotta go! Barks and woofs! Magnum

SNOW!!!!

I'm sooo glad it snowed! They said it was gonna, but we weren't sure. This is the second snow of my lifetime, the first was last January, I think. I Loooove it! I like for Mom to make a snowball and then throw it to me so I can catch and eat it! Then I got the zoomies and I ran around like crazy, stopping a few times to eat some snow. I hope it does it again! Most of the time if we're lucky it MIGHT snow once a year, but it's usually in Jan. Well, TTYDL! Bye!

Bang! Play dead!

I'm working on how to Play Dead. I'm doing well, but I've got to work on keeping my head on the ground. So I guess I'm only dead from the shoulders down! BOL! Mom wants to teach me AT LEAST 100 tricks/commands. She thinks it would be a fun and exciting challenge. Well TTYL! Bye!
