Birthday: August 16th 2006 Likes: Park time, walkies and being loved and hugged and cuddled. She loves when we let her sleep on the bed, and her favorite time of day is when mommy (me) comes home. That's when I get a big ol Dally "grin!" Pet-Peeves: Being alone. Strangers. Being cold. Mommy not being near. Flashlights. Favorite Toy: Ball,any treat stuffed toys, toes. She loves gnawing on toenails. I think she was a manicurist in a past life. Favorite Food: Anything. Carrots and sweet potato are especially loved. But she loves Duck too. Best Tricks: I do the most incredible summersaults, it makes all the neighbors crack up, I can do multiple summersaults in a row as well! Arrival Story: My beloved Diggz passed away suddenly in December 2006, at the ripe old age of 15. I was devastated. As time went on, the empty house was starting to depress me further, my husband and I decided that we needed to adopt a new lost soul to love.
Sweet Birdy was rescued from the streets of Tijuana, Mexico by Baja Animal Sanctuary. She was fostered by 3 people and adopted by another in the short time they had her. I decided that this time FUREVER meant FOREVER.
I saw her picture on Petfinder.com and it was love at first sight. I like to think it was the same for her. She is such a dear little girl. I'll never forget the day she was driven up to the house....sitting in the front seat of her foster momma's truck staring at the world in front of her, and then she locked eyes with me. And the rest is history, she's a Momma's girl. Bio: Birdy is the goofiest girl! Nothing but love and very vocal, but not a barker. She sings and sighs, moans and groans, wooo wooo's and talks, her Granpawrents think she is literally trying to figure out how to speak English. Being from Mexico it's a second language for her.
She is best when she has an audience to watch her antics. She loves to ham it up and will do multiple somersaults on the grass at out local park. She also is a toy stealer, she get's all the handsome boy dogs to give up their toys so they'll chase her. It's adorable.
Birdy is by far the most gentle, sweet and loving dog I have ever known. And she LOVES her human pack. People will stop their cars to tell me how beautiful she is. And she is, inside and out. 3 years ago today Momma saw me drive up to the house, little ears pert, nose in the air and she knew....she knew we were meant to be.
I was just a scared little puppy, 6 months old and had been kicked to the curb by my other owners, my new adopted mom (from whom my NOW Mommy adopted me) and who knows how many others.
I was a bit of a "pain in the tail" for the first few months, but now, I must say, I am totally perfect. BOL...well......
Mommy loves me a lot, so does my Daddy and my Granma and Granpaw! I get so much love, but I give so much in return. Momma likes to say I make her smile 100 times a day.
Momma's Note: Birdy does make me smile 100 times a day, she is the most wonderful dog a woman could have. She is my sweet precious baby girl and I love her so much there are no words to quite describe it.
