My Birthday

Today I celebrated my 8th birthday in heaven with all my angel pals. With all the noise going on, Mom made sure she read your messages to me loud enough so I could hear!

I want to thank Angel BooBoo, Zaidie, Chewy & Leia, Roscoe & family, Sadie Boo, the Morris Pack, Sophie Claire & Harley Davidson, Riley, Abbie & family, Rocky, KJ & family, Eddie & Sonny, and Jakie for your fun, sweet, thoughtful, and loving gifts to honor the wonderful day I was born. It really feels good to be remembered.

Mom told Huey it was my birthday today and dedicated their walk tonight in my honor. Dad says that Huey is a mama's boy but that's because he's working nights. I know Huey also loves Dad, and he's been doing a good job of bringing laughter back into their lives when it felt like they had forgotten how to laugh.

Come to think of it, this is the first time my parents have raised a puppy together as an "only dog". When they got married, Dad had a two-year old Golden Retriever named Duster (after the car), then came Butch, Cosmo and me.

We'll just have to see down the road if Huey stays an only dog, but we sure know they have enough cats.

Thanks again for stopping by! Friends forever!

Love, Quincy

My Rainbow Bridge Day

One year ago today I made my journey to the Bridge. The sun is shining brightly for my family today after a couple of days of rain.

Mom and Dad miss me so much, and that will never change. The hole in their hearts will never be completely filled, but they are learning to live with it. What great memories there are of all of their angels.

Mom has told Huey all about me, and he's growing up to be a really sweet and good boy. He loves to attach himself to Mom especially, plopping up against her whenever he can and following her from room to room. He's got Dad back on a daily schedule of walking in the afternoons before he leaves for work, just like he did with us.

Today, when Dad took Huey out for a walk, they ran into my best friend Casey. Both of them were whining and whining to get to each other, so their leashes were taken off and they ran to each other and played bitey-bitey games just like I used to do with Casey. Casey's parents always say that he plays with few dogs, but he loves Huey just like he loved me!

Dad took a picture of the two of them playing, so Huey will be adding it to his page. I hope they thought of me today, too.

Please keep my pal DOZER and his family in your thoughts, as he made his journey to the Bridge this past Monday. We know how hard it is to be away from our families, but today we're playing with peanut-butter flavored tennis balls!

Thank you for thinking of me and for your friendship.

Love, Quincy

Dreams

Mom feels lucky that she had a nice dream about my angel kitty sister Mercy a few months ago, and then she had a dream about me and Cosmo last week.

All she can remember is that we were inside a building and she was sitting on top of a wide playground slide, and Cosmo and I were having a blast running up and down it!

My parents sure miss us, even though Huey is bringing them joy while occupying the same spots we used to. But if they listen and watch closely, they'll still be able to hear our barks, see us walking around the neighorhood, playing at the park, and hanging around the house.

Wishing Mom many more happy dreams about her angels.

Love,
Quincy

When Mom doesn't go with Dad to walk Huey, the first thing Huey does when they get home is run to look for Mom to let her know he's home. That's exactly what I used to do. The difference is, Huey doesn't bring home tennis balls, he brings home twigs! I hope Huey knows they'll never go in the toy box.

It wasn't until today that we discovered that new feature in our Photo Manager where you can edit and decorate your photos. If my pup pals already knew about it, they've been keeping a good secret! We've played around with it a little but haven't saved anything.

I know Mom and Dad still miss me, and they never expected that to change after they got Huey. I hear he'll be starting puppy classes at the same place I did and for graduation day, Dad says that Mom should teach him to perform the same "play piano" trick that she taught me. I got a standing ovation for that one! We shall see.

Love,
Quincy

Mom and Huey were out in the backyard a couple of nights ago while Dad was still at work. Huey was being very rowdy inside the house and outside in the yard. Mom looked up at the night sky and said, "Quincy, puleeze help me!"

I helped! Huey was a completely different pup last night.

I'm glad to see Huey has been enjoying some of my toys, especially the octopus. But I think he realized that it was time to send it back to me so he did, with threads hanging off of it and some of the stuffing missing.

What a dood. If I were there I'd be pinning him down all the time!

Quincy

It only took Mom and Dad 90 minutes to get to Huey today, so they were early and got home around 11:30am Pacific Time.

Huey's page is up now but Mom is going to take a break and then he'll start his diary later and try to send some friend requests!

About that puppy.....

Tomorrow is the big day, and I'm going to tell you what kind of puppy my parents will be bringing home and his name!

The puppy is a first generation Standard Goldendoodle. His father is an English Cream Golden Retriever and his mother is a white Standard Poodle. We expect his coat to be more wavy than curly. So you see, you would have had a hard time guessing correctly since he's a mixed breed.

I had written that he doesn’t look like any kind of dog my parents have had before, and that's true. I also commented that he was closest in color to my Westie pals but I didn't say he was white! That's because the puppies are very light cream in color with black noses and my parents won't know which one they'll pick until tomorrow. They do have pictures of the puppies at two weeks, four weeks, and six weeks. They're almost eight weeks old now.

The hints as to what kind of puppy have been on my page all along. Don't ask me why, but my parents called me Doodle or Doodie alot and those nicknames have been on my page. And, have you noticed the title of my diary? They didn't even think about that until after they made a decision on what kind of puppy.

Now to his name. It took my parents awhile to agree on a name until finally one night, out of nowhere, Mom blurted out...

Huey!

Yes, as in Baby Huey or Huey Lewis and the News! Dad liked it right away. There's more to the story about his name but I'm going to let Huey tell you the rest of it. I'm sure he'll want to tell you all about his first day home too!

I decided to reveal all of this to you today because my parents are #3 on the list to pick a male puppy tomorrow, which they are happy about as that got them an early appointment at 10:00am Pacific Time, but they have to drive about two hours one-way. They think they'll be back home between 1:00-2:00pm Pacific Time, and after getting Huey settled, Mom wants to take pictures of him so she can add his page tomorrow....promise!

Huey's pen got set up today and my parents are packed for the road trip. They're bringing my giraffe toy for him to play with in the car, too.

I would have had a great time playing with Huey, but I guess we'll just have to hang out with each other here.

Kitty Mercy's friends have also been trying to guess what kind of dog will be joining the family, so she also has to write a diary entry.

Wish my parents, Huey, and the cats luck!

Love,
Quincy

Almost time!

Today is the first Rainbow Bridge anniversary of my angel pal ZEUS. We know his family is missing him and always will, just as my family will always miss their angels. I don't have to worry about missing him since I see him every single day!

February 20th, the day my parents pick up their new puppy, is just around the corner! I'll make an announcement as soon as he arrives home, has pictures taken, and gets his page set up. The puppies weigh between 7-9lbs now and they are cute, cute!

He's got some new toys and stuff waiting for him, but he gets to play with some of my toys and sleep in my big bed when he's not in the playpen that's being set up for him. Mom bought him a hat and when Dad saw it he said, "He doesn't know what he's getting himself into".

It will be interesting to see how the cats react, but my parents don't seem to be worried about it. Other than Melody, who always liked to play-smack me and let me nibble on her, they can't remember a time when the cats even hissed or tried to scratch our eyeballs out, and only saw playful hugging and licks. The cats have everything they need on the second story, so they could always keep the puppy from going up there.

Puppy breath is on it's way and I know that's gonna smell so good!

Love,
Quincy

Seven in Heaven!

Today would have been my 7th Birthday on earth, but I'm celebrating with both my earth pals and angel pals!

When Mom left for work today, she saw my best pal Casey and his parents walking down the street so she pulled over and rolled down the window.

My parents have been really good about not telling anyone in the neighborhood about the puppy, but today Mom spilled the beans and told Casey and his parents. They got so excited they shook her hands and Casey jumped up to the window with his front paws! I know Casey will never forget me, but I'm going to depend on him to be a good pal to the puppy.

I gotta go now because my angel pals are waiting for me to continue the celebration. Here, we have no curfew!

Thank you so much for remembering the special day when I was born.

Love,
Quincy

What a trip! I’m settling in at the Bridge and will work on dropping by to check in on my pals more often. Mom had to take a break from Dogster/Catster for awhile, but I haven’t forgotten you!

My best pal Casey and his parents stopped by to visit with my parents. He got my unopened bags of yummy jerky treats and freeze-dried chicken. It was a nice visit.

After I went to the Bridge, Mom spent some time looking online at shelters and rescue groups, but then she’d end up more upset and at times felt that she never wanted to love another dog again. When one of us goes to the Bridge it can also make humans think about those that have gone before us at the same time.

Well, after some careful thought and discussions with the cats in mind, a decision was made...

My parents are getting a puppy!

Yep, the little brother I never had. I’m not going to tell you what kind of puppy yet, but he doesn’t look like any kind they’ve had before. He was born 12/27/10 and they’ll be picking him up on 02/20/11. They’ve even picked out a name for him and I’m not going to tell you what that is either!

My parents are looking forward to it and are ready to start over again. They felt the timing of towards the end of February was good and not any sooner.

I’ll make the official announcement once he gets home. I know he's getting a Dogster page because Mom made it already. BOL

Loved and never forgotten,
Quincy
