Arrival Story:
Della came into our lives after the passing of our grandmother. Our grandparents lost their beloved cocker spaniel, Maggie, a year prior, and the empty house was very sad and lonely for our grandfather and his family. A very nice teacher who is a dog breeder/professional handler worked with one of our grandfather's granddaughters at a local school, and heard how her grandfather bought a stuffed Maggie at the hospital a few days before his wife died and kept it under the desk, where Maggie loved to sleep. The teacher decided that his smooth collie's personality and temperment would be the perfect companion for her grandfather, and when the grandfather and Della met, it was love at first sight! She has been a blessing to the family and brings smiles to all faces on whom she meets!

Bio:
Della has 10 points towards a champion title in the ring but was retired in 2006, after the handlers and co-owners sold her to us. She is a beautiful and delightful lady and truly is the posterchild for her breed! On top of taking care of grandpa, Della loves to volunteer her time cheering up others at the local nursing home.
