Summertime

Hello everyone .... the summer is here and I am so happy to be able to go outside and go for my walks again ... even though sometimes I am too hot. I really don't like the HOT weather -- I spend the days inside on the couch with the AC. This is the life!! My mom usually takes me for a walk in the morning and at night when it is a little cooler.

Yesterday my mom and sisters dressed me up in my pretty ballerina dress and sparkly hair clip and took lots and lots of photos. I felt like I was a celebrity ... I think they took more than 85 photos. Whoa, is that a lot or what! My mom put my newest pictures of me on my dogster page.

I'll be two years old in November and I weigh 7 lbs. now. I hope to see you all soon.

Almost springtime!!

Hi ... it has been a long time since I've updated my diary. I've been a really good girl the past few months. Guess who is now sleeping on mommy and daddy's bed???? I knew they couldn't resist with my cute little whining. My mom said "Let's let Kiki sleep with us just tonite." hee hee Well that was three months ago and now I am QUEEN of the couch and QUEEN of the bed!! It is almost one year since I came to live with my family. They are the best family ever.

What a long winter it has been -- lots of snow and too cold for me to go for a walk outside. I've been hanging out indoors and running around chasing my toys. My mom weighed me last week and I heard her say I was 6.5 lbs.

I can't wait for SPRING and warm weather so I can start going on walks to see my doggy friends in the neighborhood.

I Am One Years Old!!!

Hi everyone, I am a big girl now. I turned ONE on November 24th so my family celebrated my birthday on Thanksgiving. There were so many people over our house there was no place for me to sit on the couch - since I am always QUEEN OF THE COUCH!! But I managed to squeeze in and sit on someone's lap as usual.

My birthday celebration included a nice cake, candle and PRESENTS. I got some nice toys and a new jacket from my family and new toys from my neighbors and money from both grandmas (to go buy more toys and clothes). Oh I forgot to mention that I ate a $20 bill a few weeks ago. My human sister, Lina, left it on the table and naturally I had to go get it. My mom said I have very expensive "taste". haha

Our house is already decorated for Christmas .... and that means more toys and presents for ME!!

Is it July Already???

Hi, where has the time gone. It has been a busy couple of months for me and I am getting bigger each month. I weigh a littler over 5 pounds now.

I am 7 1/2 months old and just had my second appointment at the groomers. It is a shorter summer cut and I really love it. I don't feel so hot and sticky anymore. My mom keeps saying these doggie haircuts cost more than HERS. I think that is really funny.

I also graduated from my puppy classes in June and have learned so many new things. I definitely know how to "SIT" on command now and I also can "LAY DOWN", "JUMP UP" and "BARK" when told to.

I enjoy going on my nightly walks with my family and get to see all of my doggy friends around the neighborhood. Some of them are nice and a few are too wild for me. My mom quickly picks me up when she sees a barking dog headed our way. She is still more scared than I am. haha

I am enjoying being home with my human sisters, Lina and Stefanie, now that it is summer vacation. The two of them can't get enough of me and are constantly arguing who is going to hold me first. Am I spoiled or what???

Not much else to report from doggy world ..... I will update again soon.

Second Puppy Class

Hi, last night was my second puppy class. I seem to be adjusting a little better to the class. At my first class, I was so nervous and wouldn't leave my mom's lap. The bigger puppies were barking and jumping everywhere ready to pounce on me. This week I was on the floor with the other puppies but I sat next to my chihuahua friend, Roxy. She is small like me. So far we have learned sit, stay and down and I also went through a hoola hoop last night.

Our homework is to keep practicing our tricks at home (with treats of course). The next step for me is to do the tricks for FREE ... with no treats (yah right!). During class last night, a big yellow lab puppy jumped on my mom when she wasn't looking. Naturally, my mom let out a scream (pretty funny to see) but I am so lucky it wasn't me that got jumped on.

I am 5 Months Old

Hi everyone, it seems so long ago that I last updated my diary. I am happy to tell everyone that I turned five months old yesterday.

I went to the vet today for my first rabies shot. The doctor took me in the back to give it to me and my mom said she could hear me crying. Boy did that hurt!! I now weigh 4 pounds.

I am signed up to start my puppy classes next week. There will be another 5 month old Yorkie in the class and a few other larger puppies. Hopefully I won't be too scared. When I went into the vet office today there was a HUGE rottweiller in there with his mom getting ready to leave. My mom was scared to death when she saw him because he was looking at ME and probably thinking I was a tasty pork chop. I think my mom was more afraid than I was. I didn't even flinch but my mother slithered off to the side to be sure he wouldn't see her. Luckily he was on a leash!! You know my mom, she is scared to death of most dogs (except me because I am so cute and tiny).

I have been enjoying daily walks with my family and although I love to stop and sniff everything, I try to stay focused and walk in a straight line. Everyone must get dizzy watching me walk side to side as I try to investigate everything on the street.

Well I am getting ready to take another long overdue nap... that shot really wiped me out.

What I Can Do!!

Hi .......I can't believe it has been almost two weeks since I have been with my new family. I have been enjoying my new home and I have learned so many new things.

I can now:

1) Jump up onto the couch when no one is looking.
2) Go up the stairs.
3) Respond to my name.
4) Whine until someone picks me up.
5) Bark when no one is paying attention.
6) Rip apart my dog toys.

Everyone keeps saying how much I've grown in two weeks. My hair has surely grown because it is sticking straight into my eyes. My mom keeps trying to brush it out of the way but it just stands up. Hopefully in a few weeks it will be out of the way in a nice bow!!

My First Week At Home

My family picked me up last weekend and I have been getting used to my surroundings and loving everyone. My new family is so awesome!!

My first week at home I was a little shy. When I went outside I hated the wind blowing through my hair and loud voices made me scared. This weekend I was so much better outside. I warmed up to everyone that came to visit me .... family, friends, neighbors and even Wolfie, my dog neighbor.

I sleep upstairs with mom and dad so they can be sure I am safe and not getting into anything. I use pee pee pads to go potty and I get lots of praise from everyone when I do my business. My family wants me to go potty outside when the weather is nice so they don't need to be washing pee pee pads all day.

I get brushed every day and I really love it. I just hate getting wet for a bath and the blow dryer is so scary. They almost blow me away with it since it is so powerful. Hopefully they won't be washing me too often. My mom thinks I need to be fresh and clean smelling all the time.
