Arrival Story:
Morgan is a retired racer; we discovered him living in a greyhound rescue kennel in Kansas, and by his tatoos we identified him as the littermate of Malcolm (see my other dogs) - an amazing accident!!. He had been living in a kennel all his life, even after retirement in 2005! Morgan was treated well at the racetrack kennel, and his caretakers still ask about him. He is friendly and gregarious, and very healthy. He has put on some weight since living in a real home - and he is around 85 lbs now. He is a big goofy boy - we call him the Gomer Pyle of Greys.

Bio:
Morgan is coming to us from Race the Wind Greyhound Adoption in Wichita, Kansas. Thanks to these amazing people for caring for him.

Happy Birfday to MMEEEEEEE!!!

Monday it was my birfday. This year, my brubber is not here to celebrate with us, and Mom was sad. I thought there was probably nothing special today, so I go take a nap.

Then Mom she get dressed and she say, "Morgan, we have to go get new toys!" TOYS!! All the other dogs had to stay home, and I got to ride in the truck, and you know what - I got to ride shotgun instead of in the back. Mom told me what a good boy I am and happy birfday all the way. Sometimes she say she miss Malcolm, and I give her a kiss.

Then we go in the pet store, and I didn't even have diareebees. I loved ALL the toys, I was so excited, so Mom had to pick. We got five new toys and they ALL make noise, and some bones, and some cookies too! The nice lady put them all in a big bag. And we went to the truck, but after Mom put the bag in she say - let's go for a walk, Morgan. So we walked all over the outdoor mall. I have never seen such a place. All the people say how purty I am.

Then we get in the truck and I thinking, Now we go home. But then we pull off the freeway, and we are at the Air Force Academy. I never been there. Mom say - now we go for a long walk - and we walked in the woods and the meadow and everything. I was exhausted!!

Then we go to the truck. And I thinking NOW we go home. But then Mom she say, "Morgan, you ever been to Lowe's?" So we go to a big place with lots of plants, and hardware, and lumber, and ceramic floor tiles. And paint. Mom was very proud of me because I was on my best behavior and everybody say how purty I am of course.

THEN we go home. I was exhausted. All the other doggies smelled me all over to see where I went. Then we all had cookies and played with our toys. I took a loooong nap. Then when I woke up, Mom said we get special dinner. Oh BOY. We got some "stir-fry chicken" mixed in our kibble!! Then we were gassy all evening!! It was a blast!!

This was the best birfday ever, even if my brubber is gone.

Love, Morgan.

My Favorite Place

Today I follow Mom in the bathroom. It is a little room with this cool water bowl. I stick my head in it, and Mom says, "Oh, no..." and she push the handle and the water move fast and make a big sound. It scare me and I jump away and I land in a big box - Mom say it's the "bathtub". It feels cool on my feet. I kinda like it. So now I stand in the bathtub when Mom is in the bathroom room. Mom says that is just fine because I am not in the way at all.

This morning we get in the truck again - another trip!! We pick up Auntie Julie and a pretty grey dog girl named Amanda Sarah. We go for a short drive, and then we are at a big grassy field, and there are lots of other greys, and they know Malcolm. So I run right over to them and they all like me right off!! We all run and run, and then we lay in the field. I like all the new friends.

Then we get in the truck and come back to the new house. At the new house I find a bed and take a snooze. When I wake up the new Mom is snoozing too, and so are all the other dogs and my brother. I like this place.

Later we had a good dinner again, and my tummy is full, so I am sleeeeepy. We get dinner every night here, Malcolm says, and it's always good too.

Life in a House

Yesterday, my new forever mom came all the way to Kansas to get me. Aunt Judy drove to meet her. My new mom was late, and says she came to Kansas from Colorado via Oklahoma, and everyone laughed.

At first I was scared. I didn't know if I want a forever house (what's a house?); I like it fine at the kennel at the track. Then we drive a long time and we stop and Aunt Judy take me out. We wait a while. Then a red truck comes. The new mom jumps out of the truck, and she look at me and says, "Oh, he's so beautiful!" Then she open the back of the truck, and guess what? My brother Santana is there!! I run over and jump up and kiss him. I can't believe I see him! Now they call him Malcolm MacGreygor. Now I will be Morgen MacGreygor. He likes to be Malcolm.

Then we ride together all the way to the forever house. On the way, my butt blows twice, and the new mom isn't mad or anything. I so embarassed, but Mom just clean us up and laugh. She say, "Poor Savoy. . . it's a long trip." I like her I think. I like Auntie Julie too, who is with us. She is nice and smell like greyhounds too.

It is dark when we get to the new house. I don't know what a house is. We go inside it, and it is big and nice. There are other dogs too. They are nice to me and wag their tails and kiss me. They are happy to see Malcolm too. There is a kitty, and I want to chase him and Mom say "NO!!!" and scare me, so I don't. Then the black dog come and bark in my face. I guess she say "NO" too. So then they all pet the kitty. I guess the kitty is one of our pack.

We get a good dinner, right there in the house. There is a big yard for potty. There is lots of toys and stuff. I play and I run everywhere and look at everything in the house. There is something called stairs. The other dogs go up the stairs and disappear. Later they come down, and they are fine. So I think, "what is up the stairs?" I take a big brave breath and go halfway up but then I am scared so I run back down and fall down. I so silly.

Later the mom says, "Let's go to bed!" so all the dogs run up the stairs again. This time Mom says, "Come on Savoy, come on!!" and so I try my hardest, and I make it all the way!! The Mom say "YAY!! GOOD BOY!" and everything. Then she show me where the beds are, and a nice crate for me with a soft blanket in it. I go in there, and she gives us all cookies. The kitty comes and sleeps with Mom. She turn off the light.

So I lay down, and then I have nice dreams. I wake up early, and I am not scared at all. I like my new house.
