Favorite Toy:
Toys are beneath Scout. She prefers beef bones, pig ears and peanut butter chew flips.

Favorite Walk:
Going to get the mail with mom.

Best Tricks:
Her ability to understand new words relating to food, but completely ignore commands like "sit" and "stay"; making "Norma Desmond eyes" -- Scout does a excellent impression of Gloria Swanson in "Sunset Boulevard."

Arrival Story:
Scout came to me as a Christmas gift in 1994, and has been a blessing ever since. She's a great dog!

Bio:
In spite of her Rottweiler origins, Scout is all Dalmatian. She has a pointy head, a goofy grin, and spots on her chest. She's also a cancer survivor. Since her cancer treatment, she's lost 95% of the white hair on her snout -- now it's either all black or partially bald. But Scout's hair situation doesn't deter her from receiving (or giving) lots of kisses. The nice folks at Gulf Coast Vet Specialists (and Dr. Mac) helped her overcome thyroid cancer. Scout did well after her treatments and lived another ten years before her health started failing. Her ailments were controlled by medication and she enjoyed life until her last day, September 23, 2010. She was a good dog to the end -- sweet, docile and loving to her family. She was truly a wonderful companion and is very missed.
