The Alpha Dog's Life

I am the leader

Hi! I am Buddy. I am my mom's first dog in the canine family we have now. I am part Border Collie, so I am very smart. I am the boss dog. I'm very patient, but I have my limits. No one is allowed to fight. I will make them stop. I will protect my mom at all costs. The only problem is she went and got that sassy little pekinese who thinks she belongs to him and he tries to claim her for himself. But I know I was first and I am really the king around here. Well, there's one other problem. That pitbull, Jake, is sure getting big. He's my favorite playmate, but every once in a while he decides to take a bone or a toy away from me and he's just too big for me to boss! So I give him a mean sideways look and stick my nose in the air at him. My mom makes him give it back. He's pretty cool. He has enough energy to keep up with me most of the time and he knows I'm smart because he copies everything I do. I taught him how to bark at strangers, but he can't jump the fence like I do.

I won't let my mom leave without me so she locks me inside the house when she goes. She doesn't want me to jump the fence and follow her, but I think its great fun to run 25 miles an hour 2 miles to the main road and make her let me in. But if I'm not invited to go, she always turns around and makes me go back into the house. Bummer! I'll try again next time!
