Leave a bone for Boings - In Loving Memory

Nicknames:
Bobo, Beau, Bobee, Boingers, Hambone, Ham, Hammie, Mr. Faithful

Quick Bio:
-purebred-pound dog

Likes:
Getting loved on and going for rides in the car.

Pet-Peeves:
Being left alone (he'd howl like a ninny), nails clipped, being made to move when he was lying down.

Favorite Toy:
Didn't really have one.

Favorite Food:
Popcorn, peanut butter.

Favorite Walk:
Anywhere at anytime.

Best Tricks:
Sit, stay, lie down, shake (paw), and come. When he was lying down with his head off the floor, we taught him to put his head on the floor upon command.

Arrival Story:
We found him at an SPCA in PA. He was adopted once, but the owner brought him back to the pound. He was scheduled to be put down before we adopted him. His bright green "human looking" eyes are what grabbed our attention. He was named Comet when we adopted him.

Bio:
He was a handful at first with his extreme submissive urination and submissiveness. We assume he was abused by his original owner. With much love and patience over the years, he had come to trust us totally. He became an excellent dog. He no longer was submissive nor have submissive urination. He was a very faithful and loving dog who was always looking to please us. As with much larger breeds, his hips got worse as the years went on. He went from sprinting around as a young teenager to taking awhile to stand up and get moving. A few weeks leading up to his demise, he had a really tough time with his legs and hips. The doctor suspected that what ultimately happened the night before he passed was a disc exploded sending fragments of bone. It caused paralysis in his back legs. Surgery was an option, but there were risks because of his age and no guarantees of the outcome. We felt that the right thing to do was to send him to the doggie meadows forever.
