Today was a very tough day, I had to say goodbye to Percy. Percy's health had been deteriorating and his mental state was very impaired. It had only been a few months since Percy had been to the vet. In that short time, Percy had developed a severe heart murmur and this was the cause of his downfall. I didn't know what had caused the change but I knew that he wasn't happy anymore. He wasn' t my sweet Percy anymore. It was with a very sad heart I made the decision to say goodbye. I held Percy as he went to sleep. It was peaceful and very quick.

I do not regret one day Percy was with my family. Tomorrow he would have been with me for 14 months. Percy was scheduled to be euthanized 14 months ago simply because his hearing and vision was impaired due to age. Percy was happy and sweet and was the perfect gentleman. He loved me, greeted me at the door, never had accidents in the house, and never chewed a thing. Senior dogs like Percy are often overlooked for puppies. I can't imagine not having known Percy. I would not have changed a thing.

I love you sweet Percy.
