Likes:
Saide loves to be pet, by anyone at any time. She also loves to find garbage in the street to eat, and if we are really lucky, maybe someone will be using a hose so that Sadie can get some water to drink!

Pet-Peeves:
The vacuum cleaner is very scary

Favorite Toy:
Balls, all kinds

Favorite Food:
Anything she finds on the street, especially if mommy is trying to take it away.

Favorite Walk:
To the park!

Best Tricks:
Sadie will do almost anything to get a little attention. When we go for walks she runs up to people on the street and puts her head under their hand so they will pet her.

Arrival Story:
Sadie was left at a boarding facility by her previous family. The people at the facility were wonderful and kind; they kept her there for a year as the "house" dog, and then asked Sadie's family to sign them over to her so she could be adopted. I walk by the boarding facility every week, and when I saw her picture in the window it was instant love. I had to go in immediately to meet her. She was shy at first, but quickly warmed up. The next day I brought my other dog, Hoppy, to meet her and decide if they wanted to be sisters. After a few more visits, Sadie came home.

B-A-T-H: A Four letter word

Mom did it to us last night. She did the meanest thing a doggie mom can do- - she gave us a bath!!! When we came home from our walk she turned on the water in the shower like she always does, so I can get some water from my indoor waterfall. Only this time the waterfall was moving, and it went all over me! Then she had the gall to put some stuff on me that removed my wonderful odor of stink. Mom says that I really needed it because we had spent the last few days in the park, and my coat had collect lots of allergens, which are bad for her. She said I had a choice between sleeping in the bed, and this torture, and she knows how I feel about sleeping in the bed.

But don't worry, I got her back! As soon as she was done rinsing me off I took off through the apartment, rubbing myself against the walls and the floor and making sure to get water everywhere. Mom kept saying that it's a good thing she loves me so much, because otherwise...

But instead of getting angry, she gave me a greenie for my efforts. Maybe if I am even worse next time she'll give me 2 greenies.

I graduated!

Mom warned me all along that it wasn't a sure thing. After all, therapy school involved more than being adorable and going around demanding to be pet. And she said that she would be darned if we were going to be beauty school dropouts. But after 8 weeks of training, and a few close calls when I would fixate on a stuffed animal or tennis ball, I am finally a graduate! Mom is so proud of me that we had 2 parties this weekend in my honor. We had one in Central Park so that all my doggie friends could come, and squeeky toys for everyone!!!! I ran around the park with a stuffed lamb in my mouth to show everyone, and happily removed all its insides. Mom was thrilled not only because I was having fun, but also because for once I wasn't taking apart the toy in the house.

Then we had a bbq, and I got lots of leftovers. Mom said that I could have anything my heart desires, as long as Hoppy got some too. And boy, did we eat like, well, dogs.

We hope to start my real work next weekend going to a nursing home near our house. And it's a good thing, because mom's arm is tired from petting me all the time. New people to pet me- yeah!!!

Yesterday was not my best day

At least that's what mom keeps telling me. We had to leave the dog park because I was fixated on a ball this collie was playing with. When her mom took the ball away and put it in her pocket, I sat down next to her and tried to get my nose in her pocket. After 15 minutes of attempts mom said that I am incouragable, and we had to leave. It isn't nice to stick my nose where it doesn't belong.

So we went home, and napped at bit. As soon as everyone else was ready for bed I brought out my toy and proceeded to rip the canvas around it off piece by piece, making it squeek the entire night. Mom finally got out of bed to take it awat from me, but I made such a rucus she gave up. So now she says that she's holding a grudge against me for keeping her up all night, and that she might be too tired to take us to the park tomorrow. I really hope not! I'll try to be extra good today.

Hoppy keeps giving me these looks like I was a bad girl. She's such a momma's girl sometimes... I guess that's what happens when you're the first born. That, and she hogs the beds, and sometimes tries to use both! Not fair!
