Best Tricks:
He will literally sit with a piece of steak on his nose until I give the command "ok" - I can leave the room, go outside, get on the phone etc, he will not move until I tell him he can have it.
Arrival Story:
Simba's mom is a pure bred Boxer..... Momma got ummm let's say "friendly" one night and went down the street to see Bruiser, a 150 pound blonde German Shepherd chained in the yard with the thickest chain I have ever seen on a dog (and I questioned if it was going to hold him!). Daddy is nasty, not through any fault of his own, but sadly he is not a nice dog.... but Momma boxer liked him enough to have a litter of 9 puppies with him. When everyone came into the home and we discussed which rescuers would foster what pups, I stood back because I always want the under dog or unwanted baby... and there was my Simba - under a wicker loveseat pressed up against the wall and shaking and whimpering. Fostering him lasted about 3 seconds, I knew I would be adopting him before I got back into my car, lol. He is the most perfect dog and I have been truly blessed to be able to share my life with him. He is smart, loving, protective, compassionate, adoring, loyal, kind, forgiving of the other animals as they jump at him and bite his tail.... he is just amazing. And all he asks for in return is a card ride every now and then and the ability to sleep with at least his paw touching me. I only hope I am half the person that HE thinks I am.
