Arrival Story:
we got Marcus from Great Dane Rescue of north Texas, we went to a meet and greet to see some of the dogs,When we went in we saw this poor thing in his crate,I went to see if we could meet him ,the lady said yes but that he did not like men .I took him outside to see my husband and they were instant buddies as I have never seen a dog that does not like him.we put in aqn application and a few weeks after the home inspection we went to get him,and he has been a great joy.recently he has been having trouble with his knees(yes dogs have knees) they keep colapsing so he is on pain meds and joint stuff. It is really sad to see him fall on his face at times. This condition comes from feeding a large breed dog the wrong food when they are babies. The last picture is of Marcus when we first saw him.I have seen dogs in worse condition than him but he just grabbed my heart .To see a magnificent animal in that condition was just horrible I had to take him home and give him as much love as we could.

Marcus was starved and left in a mobil home alone for quite a while. So when we got him he suffered from separation anxiety.the first few weeks were hard on all of us as he would tear things up at night when we were sleeping. For example three cushions from our couch we currently have homemade cushions made out of the scraps from the original cushions ,wash cloths, and towels they don't look bad if i keep them covered with garage sale bed spreads. He also ate three t.v.remote controlls we never found the batteries.Several pair of shoes and anything he could get his mouth on.Luckly he has out grown that .when we first got him and he was running around the yard i thought he was the funniest thing ,he reminded me of a clown in a dog suit.****************07/14/2008 I am sorry to say that our pretty big guy has passed away on the way to the vet this morning. The vet thinks he had a pulmonary embolism and there was nothing we or she could do .I am greatful thet we had him for six years and one day.In that time we gave him all the love possible and the best life any dog could have.We miss you"big Guy"*********It is now Oct.2008 and I must I still miss my "Big Guy" we now have a new addition to our dog family and I still miss other dog will take his place and this new guy is not going to try, he is great in his own way and we will love him also.I will post him soon.12/19/2010 I just wanted to say that I still think of Marcus every day.I will miss him forever.he was my spirit dog.
