Lots has happened since I last wrote.
I went on holidays with my mum. We had a nice time! We went walking, to the beach, she took me out for brunch and lots of sitting around wathcing movies. It was good fun. One day, she let me go off leash at the beach cos I'm pretty good at staying close by. But I spotted a seagull and thought I'd take a closer look and took off at high speed. Hanna called me to come back but by the time I came to my senses, the seagull had gone and I was no longer on the sand, but in the middle of a stinky lake! I had to have a bath cos I smelt so bad.
Aside from that, I have just been pottering around, doing very little, just hanging with my family.
My mum and aunty Jane have started doing C25K running again now the warm weather is returning, so I've been doing that with them. I am a lazy couch potato, but once I get running, it's good fun.
The big news in my house is that I'm getting a cousin! Jane is getting a fur-baby of her own! He is going to be called Charlie and he's arriving on 30 November. He is part poodle too, so he will be my "oodle" cousin! It will be exciting to have another dog in the house but it will also be hard work - hopefully he and Morgan will be buddies and they can play all day and let me snooze in peace!

I'm going on holidays!
Hanna packed my bag last night (I have an Oscar the Grouch bag!) and we are leaving tomorrow. We will drive for 7 hours to get there. Hopefully Hanna will sing while we are driving. Most people would not enjoy her singing, it's not very good, but I like it when she sings in the car.
When we get there, we are going to be lazy couch potatoes and watch movies, read books, drink coffee (maybe a dog-a-cino for me?). She also said we would go for a walk on the boardwalk. That will be good - lots of smells for me to enjoy on that walk!
I'm looking forward to my holiday - Hanna and I have never holidayed together. I have been there with Sue, Robin, Jane, Molly and Morgan but never Hanna. She usually takes her holidays in far away places but this time she said "I just want a week at the beach with my pooch". It will be nice.

My aunty Jane gave me a rawhide bone. It was tasty but too much to eat at once, so I thought I'd bury it and enjoy it later.
I'm not allowed in the backyard by myself so I had to bury it inside. I thought the yellow couch was a good spot, so I squished the bone down behind the cushions. But in doing so, I accidently removed the cushion cover. Jane went to put the cover back on and discovered the bone. So I had to find another hiding spot.
I thought I'd done a good job until Hanna went into the study and noticed that some papers were on the floor and the cushion on the armchair was crooked. She went to fix the cushion and discovered the bone was hidden there. I glared at her and took the bone. I racked my brain for another hiding spot.
I thought my bed upstairs was a good choice. It has a cushion and a blanket on top. I put the bone on the cushion and arranged the blanket over the top. It took some doing and then I fell off the bed and dislodged the blanket and had to start again. After a lot of work, I decided it was safe to leave the bone, no one would find it there.
Little did I know that Hanna was planning on dismantling the bed so she could pack it up and take it to Sue and Robin's house. She headed upstairs and I followed her, just to keep an eye on things. She was headed towards my bed! I was so cross that she'd found the bone, I thought I had buried it so well! I hadn't realised that she'd been watching me earlier when I was burying it! She and Jane tricked me - I thought they were looking out the window but they'd been watching me!
After all that hiding, I decided the only safe place for the bone was my tummy so I ate the whole thing.
But I might need to think of some new hiding spots so I'm prepared next time I have a treat.

Sue, Robin, Jane & Morgan have gone on holidays. They didn't take me. Hanna said she needed my company so I stayed with her. But she goes to work every day, so I'm spending the days by myself.
It's ok though. I love my family but I don't mind a bit of time alone with my thoughts. Today Hanna left me my Kong to play with and it was filled with treats and peanut butter. That was pretty good! And I sit and watch the street, see who's going past. I keep an eye on things. And the radio is on, so I listen to the music and get news & weather updates every hour. I know what's going on in the world!
Hanna said she and I will take a holiday in a few months. We'll have a week at the beach. We've never been on holidays together. She's had 2 holidays since I came to live with her but each time she went to other countries so I couldn't go with her. But it's ok cos Sue & Robin look after me so well that I don't miss her too much. And she buys me stuff when she's away. When she went to the USA, she bought me a t-shirt that says "Mama's Boy". It's too small for me to wear, which is good cos although I am a mama's boy, I'd feel silly wearing that t-shirt! I also got a tartan coat, a chewy pink bone and some paw balm. I'm not a big fan of the paw balm, I don't like grooming, primping, any of that nonsense. But the coat is warm and I always like a new toy!

My mum is very grumpy this week. She does not cope well with interupted sleep.
My allergy tablets make me thirsty and the increased dose has meant I've been drinking a lot more than usual. This is ok during the day but by night time, my bladder is FULL! So I need to go outside much more often than usual. Every 40 minutes or so, from the time Hanna gets home from work til bed time! I can't even hang on long enough for her to see a full tv show - she has to race outside with me during the ad breaks!
And even worse, I have not been able to hang on through the night. Each night this week, I've had to wake her in the middle of the night for a quick trip outside! Although she is glad I ask to go out and don't just wee on the floor, standing outside at 2.30am in June in Melbourne is not fun for my poor mum! Especially since I do not have the talent Morgan has for just weeing anywhere. I have to choose the right spot very carefully and that takes quite a bit of sniffing and circling. Hanna says "c'mon Oscar, it's not like you're burying treasure, you can wee anywhere and it'll be ok". But she is wrong - it is vital that I choose the right spot.
The other night, I stayed in Jane's room. Jane is a good aunty. I asked her to go out twice and she took me both times, no questions asked. The second time, I was just being a brat though - I didn't really need to go. I was hungry and wanted breakfast! So we stood outside for a while, she realised I was pulling her leg and we went back inside and I danced around in the kitchen asking for breakfast. She was not amused! I think I'd better remember that waking Jane up to play a joke on her is NOT a good idea!

I can't stop sneezing! Big sneezes and all day long! I sneezed so big that my mum said "Oscar, say it, don't spray it!" cos I'd sprayed yukky nose gunk all over her! So she took me to the vet cos she was a bit concerned.
I was a big sook and cried a lot but I stood still to let Tony the vet take a good look at me. He said I need to take my allegy tablets every day for a while and have antibiotics too. And I have to have a really bland diet for a few days - skinless chicken and rice. It is very boring for me. No dry food. No porridge. No vegies. No dog gravy. No stinky parmesan that I love so much. It is a very sad state of affairs.
But I also have good news. My mum has been looking for a new house for us to live in and she found one! She took me to look at it and we had our photo taken in front of the SOLD sign. We couldn't go in because a man with cats lives there now but she told me it has a nice backyard for me and it has high fences so I'll be able to play there safely. The man with cats is staying there for a little while longer so we can't move in yet. We'll be moving back in with Sue and Robin and Morgan which I am very excited about!

We usually go to obedience on Sunday morning. I was looking forward to it - I love to see all the other dogs. But when my mum got out of bed, it was raining. She said "sorry Oscar monster, it's raining and I already have a cold. We'll have to give obedience a miss this week". Not that much later, the rain stopped, the clouds cleared and it was glorious sunshine. But by then we had missed the start of our class. Grrr at the weather!

Sue and Robin came back from their holiday so Morgan went home. I have had some quiet days since then. Morgan is a busy girl and always on the move or planning some mischief. I like to spend my days sleeping! So sometimes we don't get along very well....
Last night I went for a run. Hanna and Jane are doing a thing they call C25K. It is a program that will change them from couch potatoes into sleek, fit runners! We went to the local oval and did laps. There were some guys there playing football, I wanted to join them but Hanna insisted that I had to run with her. It was good fun but she doesn't go fast enough!

It was my birthday yesterday. I had a good day!
My mum bought me presents but she hasn't given them to me yet. I'm a bit sad but Hanna explained to me that they are all highly desirable treats and since Morgan and I tend to argue over highly desirable treats, she is saving them for when Morgan goes home so I can enjoy my treats in peace! She didn't want us fighting on my birthday.
Jane gave me presents though, and she kept Morgan occupied while I enjoyed them! She gave me a yummy rawhide hotdog and a another rawhide treat that looked like a kebab. They were good! She gave Hanna a bag as well but I don't know yet what is in the bag.....
Sue and Robin sent me a text message from Indonesia, wishing me a happy birthday! Jane read it out to me and I felt happy that they are thinking of me while they are away.
Usually, we get ice-cream on our birthdays but we only had the low fat version in our freezer (bor-ring!). Hanna said she'd get me some real proper creamy ice-cream cos it is a special occasion!
